  • Patent number: 7113153
Abstract: The present invention solves the problem that the color temperature of initial setting is changed, when a PDP is driven for a long period of time, due to the non-uniform deterioration of red, green and blue fluorescent materials that is caused by the ultraviolet rays generated for discharge. Color temperature correction is performed by setting the numbers of discharge pulses for fluorescent materials in accordance with a discharge pulse number correction curve with respect to the cumulative elapsed driven time of a PDP.

  • Publication number: 20060125849
Abstract: There is provided an image display device which can control image retention-preventing means in a static image displaying part, according to a change with the passage of time in a luminance difference. The drive of the image retention-preventing means is cancelled when accumulated elapsed-time during which the luminance difference is returned to approximately an original value elapses.

  • Publication number: 20050253825
Abstract: A video display apparatus includes a brightness modulating circuit that reduces the image brightness of the peripheral area of a display panel as compared to that of the central area of the display panel, and a control circuit that controls the operation of the brightness modulating circuit on the basis of the power consumption of the display panel in which the control circuit controls the brightness modulating circuit to be active when the power consumption of the display panel exceeds a predetermined threshold, and stops the operation of the brightness modulating circuit when it is smaller than the predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 6879112
Abstract: An image display device for displaying images by using the digital signal processing and by making use of the sight emission of the phosphor. An static image is detected from an image signal data, and when the luminance level of the static image is high, the luminance level of the specific area is lowered, and when the luminance level of the static image is low, the luminance level of the specific area is increased. In this manner, it is possible to reduce image retention of the static image when the static image is displayed for a long time.

  • Publication number: 20040233137
Abstract: A back substrate has a plurality of electron emission elements. A display substrate comprises an optically transparent substrate disposed opposite to the back substrate; an accelerating electrode formed on the inner face of the optically transparent substrate for accelerating electron beams emitted from the electron emission elements; and luminescent materials excited by the electron beams to emit light toward the outer face of the optically transparent substrate. A frame member supports the back substrate and display substrate on their peripheries. A vacuum chamber is defined by the back substrate, display substrate, and frame member. A conductor electrically connected to the accelerating electrode is drawn out to the outside of the vacuum chamber. A high voltage connector for supplying an accelerating voltage to the conductor is removably connected to the conductor.

  • Publication number: 20040104655
Abstract: The device comprises a first substrate with a plurality of electron emitters arranged in a matrix, a second substrate arranged in opposed relation to the first substrate and having a phosphor pattern formed on the surface thereof nearer to the first substrate for emitting light by receiving the electron beam from the electron emitters and a metal thin film for accelerating the electron beam, and a plurality of spacers arranged between the first and second substrates. The spacers each include first sheet-form support members and second sheet-form support members extending in a direction at right angles to the first sheet-form support members. The first sheet-form support members and the second sheet-form support members are coupled or combined with each other to form spaces with a rectangular section parallel to the first or second substrate.
