  • Patent number: 9131889
Abstract: Cerebral blood flow data during cognitive task execution is measured using a functional near infrared spectroscopy method, then characteristic amount extraction is performed after performing primitive analysis on the measured cerebral blood flow data. Then, by using the extracted characteristic amounts and a pre-built model for employing in determination of cognitive impairment, automatic determination is made into clinical diagnostic groups of normal (NC), mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer's disease (AD). It is thereby possible to perform cognitive impairment determination that is suitable for mass early stage screening of elderly people.

  • Patent number: 8304734
Abstract: An infrared sensor capable of more highly accurately correcting an electrical signal converted by a light receiving unit is provided. An infrared sensor (100) converts energy of infrared rays radiated from an object (for example, human body) to an electrical signal and outputs the electrical signal, the infrared sensor comprising: a light receiving unit (10) that includes a quantum type infrared detection element (11) and that converts the energy of the infrared rays to an electrical signal; and a correction unit (20) that corrects the output signal from the light receiving unit (10), wherein the light receiving unit (10) and the correction unit (20) are formed of the identical material on the identical substrate (1) and have the identical configuration so that the infrared rays enters in an identical manner.

  • Patent number: 6995798
Abstract: A viewfinder control unit includes a liquid crystal viewfinder with a hood; a sensor for picking up the face of a cameraman; a pan motor for horizontally rotating the viewfinder; and a tilt motor for varying the angle the viewfinder makes with a horizontal plane to provide the cameraman with an optimum view angle. The viewfinder undergoes tracking control such that it is always trained on the face of a cameraman in response to the panning (left or right swing of a lens) and the tilting (up or down swing of the lens) of the television camera.

  • Patent number: 5867345
Abstract: A pivot of a movable holding member holding a disk pack is provided at inner side of a pivot of a cover member to be selectively opened and closed relative to an opening end portion of a disk pack receptacle portion. Then, the movable holding member and the cover member are connected to a link mechanism. Also, by a connection control mechanism portion, a connector of a disk pack is automatically controlled connection with a connector depending upon pivot of the movable holding member.

  • Patent number: 4207790
Abstract: A microtome knife holder comprises a base plate and a holder plate for supporting a knife therebetween. The base plate has a wedge-shaped cross section having a first sharpened edge, the base plate having a stepped surface that extends along the first sharpened edge and on which the knife is locatable with its blade extending beyond the first sharpened edge. The base plate also has a groove extending parallel to and remotely from the stepped surface. The holder plate has a second sharpened edge and a flat surface extending along the second sharpened edge and facing to the stepped surface in spaced relation for sandwiching the knife between the flat and stepped surfaces, the holder plate further having a leg located remotely from the second sharpened edge and disposed in the groove in the base plate. A plurality of screws spaced from each other extend through the holder plate threadedly into the base plate and its portion which lies between the groove and the stepped surface.
