  • Publication number: 20090272995
Abstract: An epoxy resin composition for optical semiconductor element encapsulation includes an epoxy resin (Component (A)) mainly containing an epoxy compound represented by a specific structural formula (1), a curing agent (Component (B)), and at least one of an oxynitride phosphor and a nitride phosphor (Component (C)). Therefore, the phosphor component (C) is uniformly dispersed in the epoxy resin composition without segregation. Thus, the resin composition serves as an excellent optical semiconductor element encapsulation material which has an adequate light diffusion property and a high light transmittance and permits a reduction in internal stress. Therefore, a light emitting diode element encapsulated with the epoxy resin composition is capable of stably emitting light, and satisfactorily performs its functions.

  • Patent number: 7379026
Abstract: The electronic device includes a device body, a radiation element for performing reception and/or radiation of electromagnetic wave as an antenna to be equipped with the device body, and a dielectric member placed close to or in contact with the radiation element within the device body, the dielectric member being movable from the outside of the device body to shift the resonance frequency of the antenna. According to the present invention, it is possible, for an electronic device such as a notebook PC having a wireless communication function, to compensate the deviations of resonance frequency of antennas caused by errors in mounting of the antennas for individual devices, the difference in the dimension of structures or the like, to match the resonance frequency to the specified central frequency.

  • Publication number: 20060166622
Abstract: Wireless noise is detected within a time period specifically held after a data packet is wirelessly communicated, where no data is purposefully wirelessly communicated during this time period. The time period may be an inter-frame space (IFS) period within which no data is to be wirelessly communicated, and that is a period waited for prior to accessing a wireless medium over which data is wirelessly communicated. One or more actions are performed to counteract the noise. The frequency at which a liquid crystal display is being driven may be decreased so that harmonics caused thereby that caused the noise are no longer within the wireless communication frequency range. An opposite-in-phase version of the noise may also or alternatively be combined with a signal when data is subsequently wirelessly received. The signal includes a data component and a noise component, the opposite-in-phase version of the noise canceling out the noise component.

  • Patent number: 7008456
Abstract: A technique for prohibiting access to a computer having a security function when a security device is illegally removed from the computer. The security device is a hardware component that constitutes a part of a security function for a computer. When the security device is illegally removed from the computer, access to the computer is prohibited. Data indicating that the security device is attached to the computer are stored in a nonvolatile memory. Then, when a specific event, such as a power-ON event, is used as a trigger, the procedure for prohibiting the access to the computer is initiated. Following this, based on the data stored in the memory, it is detected that the security device was once attached to the computer and that it has now been removed. If currently the security device is not attached to the computer, although it was attached before, the access to the computer is prohibited.
