  • Patent number: 5813727
Abstract: A massaging chair is capable of assuring comfortable use, both in the sitting and lying positions. The massaging chair comprises a seat, a reclining backrest pivotally connected about a pivot axis to the seat so as to be movable between an upright position and a horizontal position with respect to the seat, and a massager is disposed on the side of the reclining backrest to give a massage to a back of a user resting on said seat. A pair of armrests are disposed on the opposite sides of said seat. The armrests are designed to extend arcuately substantially about the pivot axis of the backrest. With this arrangement, the user's arms on the armrests can be kept at a fixed comfortable angular relationship with respect to his or her body, irrespective of the varying angles of the reclining backrest on which the user rests with varying posture.

  • Patent number: 5792080
Abstract: A massaging apparatus has a capability of self-adjusting a massage strength for giving an optimum massaging effect for individual users. The apparatus includes a supporting frame on which a user rest and an applicator projecting from the supporting frame to be pressed against a user's body. The applicator is driven to move for applying a massaging force to the user's body. A pressure sensor is provided to monitor a pressure applied back to the applicator from the user's body as a counter-action of applying the massaging force to the user's body and to provide an output indicative of the monitored pressure. A strength-adjustor is included to vary a projecting amount of the applicator from the supporting frame and/or an operational speed of moving the applicator in order to adjust a massage strength applied to the user's body.

  • Patent number: 4686967
Abstract: A rocking massage chair wherein massaging wheel elements and their drive mechanism are disposed in backrest part of the chair while a motor for driving an operating shaft of the drive mechanism is disposed in seating part of the chair, whereby the relatively heavy motor is located on forward side of a rocking center of the chair so as to keep the center of gravity of the chair always on the forward side and thus to prevent the chair from overturning rearward.

  • Patent number: 4561326
Abstract: A speed reducer device having a rotatably driven input shaft, a plurality of elongated planetary rollers disposed around the axis of the rotatably driven input shaft, a plurality of cylindrical output connection rings coaxial with the input shaft and within which the planetary rollers are positioned, and means to press the rotatably driven input shaft, the planetary rollers, and the cylindrical output connection rings together so that when the input shaft is rotated, the planetary rollers and the connection rings rotate without slipping. Each planetary roller is formed from first and second coaxial integral rollers which revolve and rotate within the space defined by the rotatably driven input shaft and the cylindrical output connection rings. The output connection rings comprise first and second output connection rings, wherein the first and second rollers rotate and revolve within the first and second output connection rings, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4475285
Abstract: An electric shaver has a housing which contains a motor. An inner blade support is mounted for rotation on the motor at one end of the housing, and an outer blade on the housing covers the inner blade support. Inner blades on the inner blade support revolve and are urged by springs against the outer blade, whereby hair extending through holes in the outer blade is cut by the inner blade. Openings through the inner blade support permit cut hair to drop therethrough, and the hair collects in a receptacle below the openings. Air flow caused by revolving the inner blade and other members on the inner blade support blows through the openings then near the receptacle to move hair from between the inner blade and the outer blade to the receptacle. The air flow then continues out of the housing through exhaust openings in the periphery of the outer blade.
