    Abstract: In a local cart traveling system, a frame track includes first and second metal rails each with an L-shaped cross section and facing each other. A local cart is within the frame track, and includes a first electricity receiving tire and a second electricity receiving tire to travel on horizontal travel surfaces of the rails. A voltage supplier supplies an AC voltage to the travel surfaces, so that the first metal rail and a first electricity receiving tire define a first capacitor and the second metal rail and the second electricity receiving tire define a second capacitor. The local cart includes a power receiver to receive AC power, and a travel motor that receives power after the AC power is rectified. The frame track includes a connecting plate as an electrical insulator covering portions of the surfaces of vertical walls of the first metal rail and the second metal rail.

    Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a controller. A peripheral includes a converter and a device. The converter performs conversion of communication interface for inputs into the device based on a mode setting. When updating the embedded software of the device, the controller sets the converter to conversion mode to have the converter execute conversion of embedded software outputted using a first communication interface from the first communication interface to the second communication interface, and performs updating of the embedded software using the second communication interface. When not updating the embedded software, the controller sets the converter in non-conversion mode, stops the conversion from the first communication interface to the second communication interface, and stops the updating of the embedded software.

    Abstract: A system includes: a first platform, a second platform, and a relay device including an expansion bus that connects to the first and the second platforms. The first platform includes a processor that detects an abnormality in communication between the first and the second platforms through the expansion bus. The relay device includes a communication control microcomputer that controls the communication between the first and the second platforms through the expansion bus, and a power supply control microcomputer that controls supply of power from an external power supply to the second platform, and determines, after the abnormality has been detected in the communication between the first and the second platforms through the expansion bus, that the abnormality is caused by one of hardware and software, based on an electrical signal from the second platform, and notifies the first platform of a result of the determination.

    Abstract: A telephone directory database is established in a mobile phone terminal. When a calling operation is executed in the mobile phone terminal, data included in the telephone directory database is sent out into the data network. A server computer in the central office may receive the data. The received data is registered into a database for backup data in the server computer. The backup data for the telephone directory database is reliably prepared in the server computer in this manner. A user of the mobile phone terminal is allowed to easily reestablish the telephone directory database in a new mobile phone terminal based on the backup data.
