  • Publication number: 20200009888
Abstract: An air suction device includes an air duct and a fan. The air duct includes a plurality of guide members and extends from an ejection space in which a liquid is ejected, to an air discharge port. The fan generates an air flow that moves inside the air duct toward the air discharge port. The air duct includes a wind passage and a pair of wall portions. The wind passage extends upward from a bottom surface that is formed from the plurality of guide members. The wind passage guides the air flow. The pair of wall portions are formed on the bottom surface to face each other across a joint connecting the plurality of guide members.

  • Patent number: 10364108
Abstract: The sheet feed device includes a sheet containing cassette with a sheet stacking plate therein, a sheet feed part enabled to feed a sheet within the sheet containing cassette set in a setting position, a first sensing mechanism, a lift mechanism, a drive mechanism, and a controller. The lift mechanism includes a cassette-side coupling member for transmitting driving force to the sheet stacking plate. The drive mechanism includes a main body-side coupling member coupled with the cassette-side coupling member. When the first sensing mechanism has sensed that no sheets are stacked on the sheet stacking plate, the controller makes the main body-side coupling member rotate reverse to move down the sheet stacking plate and, even after the sheet stacking plate lowers, makes the main body-side coupling member continue to be rotated reverse so as to move out the sheet containing cassette from the setting position.

  • Patent number: 9611110
Abstract: A sheet feed cassette includes a cassette main body, a sheet loading plate, a regulating member, and an auxiliary member. The sheet loading plate has a support surface and an opening. The support surface supports a sheet sheaf of one or more sheets. The regulating member is slidable within the opening in a sheet width direction perpendicular to a sheet feed direction. The regulating member regulates the sheet sheaf by coming into contact with an edge of the sheaf. The auxiliary member is supported by the sheet loading plate. The auxiliary member is in contact with the regulating member. The auxiliary member is turnable in parallel to the support surface in accompaniment to sliding of the regulating member. The auxiliary member supports a part of the sheet sheaf located over the opening.

  • Patent number: 9563829
Abstract: A jam detection section detects a sheet jam on a conveyance path based on results of detection by a sheet detection sensor. A printing stop section stops an image formation operation upon the sheet jam detection by the sheet jam detection section. Upon detection of completion of an operation of resolving the sheet jam by a user by a resolving operation detection section, a sheet breakage confirmation section judges, for the sheet taken out from the conveyance path by the user in the operation of resolving the sheet jam and then loaded on a document stand, whether or not there is any sheet lacking portion, based on image data generated by an image reading section. The stopping release section, upon judgment by the sheet breakage confirmation section that there is no sheet lacking portion, permits execution of image formation.

  • Publication number: 20160094752
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a conveyance path, a print stop unit, a solution operation detector, a jam solution confirming unit, and a continuous printing resuming unit. The print stop unit stops an image forming operation when a preliminary specified print stop condition is met at a start of the continuous printing or during execution of the continuous printing. The jam solution confirming unit determines whether one sheet is normally conveyed or not by a confirmation conveyance operation. The confirmation conveyance operation conveys the sheet in the conveyance path after stopping the image forming operation by the print stop unit. The continuous printing resuming unit resumes the continuous printing by a usual conveying operation. The continuous printing simultaneously conveys a plurality of sheets in the conveyance path when the jam solution confirming unit determines that the sheets are normally conveyed.

  • Patent number: 8857811
Abstract: A sheet transport device has a housing member, a sheet tray, a transport path, a dispensing portion, a feeding portion, and a projecting member. Sheets are accommodated in the sheet tray. The sheet tray is detachably attached to the housing member, and is configured to be pulled out of the housing member in a first direction. The transport path is disposed in the housing member, and extends from the sheet tray in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The dispensing portion dispenses the sheets to the transport path. The feeding portion is rotated in contact with the sheet for feeding the sheet toward downstream of the transport path. The projecting member is configured to be projected and retracted with respect to the transport path near the imaginary line extending from a sheet nip portion in the first direction.

  • Patent number: 8301072
Abstract: A guiding roller unit has a holder to be mounted on a mount, and a guiding roller rotatably supported by the holder. The holder includes a base, two bearings and widening preventing plates attached respectively to the bearing. The base, the bearings and the widening preventing parts are integral to each other. The base is mounted on the mount. The bearings stand from opposite ends of the base and rotatably support the roller. The widening preventing plates extend in directions opposite to facing directions of the bearings. The holder enables the roller to be attached and detached with leading ends of the bearings elastically widened with respect to base ends thereof connected with the base while being detached from the mount, whereas it prohibits widening of the leading ends of the bearings by contacting the mount in response to forces acting in widening directions while being mounted on the mount.

  • Patent number: 8215635
Abstract: A sheet feeder has a tray on which a sheet to be fed is to be placed. A lift plate is at a feeding end of the tray and has a first end at an upstream side in a feeding direction connected rotatably to the tray. The lift plate is displaceable between a feeding posture where a second end at a downstream side in the feeding direction is lifted up and a retracted posture where the second end is lower than in the feeding posture due to its own weight. A biasing member gives a biasing force to an elevating member in a direction to lift the lift plate to the feeding posture. A lowering mechanism gives a pressing force against the force of the biasing member to lower the lift plate to the retracted posture.

  • Patent number: 7929896
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member with an image bearing surface adapted to move in a given direction and carry a toner image thereon. A main cleaning device is opposed to the image bearing surface and electrically removes residual toner remaining on the image bearing surface. A power supply is adapted to apply to the main cleaning device a bias having a polarity reverse to a charge polarity of the residual toner. An auxiliary cleaning device is provided near and upstream of the main cleaning device with respect to the moving direction of the image bearing surface and can be brought into contact with the image bearing surface. A support structure supports the auxiliary cleaning device and permits the auxiliary cleaning device to be moved swingingly while following a displacement of the image bearing surface during the moving.
