    Abstract: A metal mold for molding a slider of a slide fastener is provided. The metal mold comprises upper and lower mold cavities for molding portions of the slider, with the upper and lower molds moving up and down relative to each other in order to open and close the mold. The mold further comprises at least two sliding molds for molding portions of the slider not molded by the upper and lower molds. The sliding molds are capable of being removably introduced into the upper and lower molds from their front and rear sides when the upper and lower molds are in tight contact with each other.

    Abstract: A slider for a slide fastener with an automatic locking mechanism comprises a small number of components and hence can be assembled and operated with ease. A slider body of the slider has a receiving hole for receiving a resilient plate running in parallel with a guide groove and arranged in the upper wing plate of the slider body. The receiving hole has an enlarged open section arranged at the side of a rear opening and communicating with the guide groove to a claw receiving hole, and is formed to have a narrow tubular shape above a guide post. A wide groove is arranged along a lateral side of the receiving hole with a gap therebetween. A through hole is arranged to perpendicularly cross the receiving hole at the middle thereof.

    Abstract: A slider of a slide fastener is free from any damage that may arise when a lug is deformed and springs back and an upper wing is protected against undesired deformation. A pair of rear lateral legs project downward from the lug. A gap is defined between the rear lateral legs and the upper wing. One or more longitudinal ribs are formed on the lower surface of the lug. If excessively pinching force is applied to the lug to close the gap, the upper wing is kept free from any local deformation because the rear lateral legs absorb the excessive force. Also, if the lug springs back, because the rear lateral legs restore their original positions, they are held in close contact with the upper wing.

    Abstract: A method of making an injection-molded slide fastener slider includes a first injection-molding step for forming a slider body having an integral arch-shaped support lug and a second injection-molding step for forming a pull tab threaded through a transverse hole in the support lug. For pivotal connection of the pull tab with the support lug, a mold used for achieving the method includes a combination of a main slide core and an auxiliary slide core slidably associated therewith. In the first injection-molding step, the auxiliary slide core is held in a first position in which the two slide cores jointly have a shape corresponding to the shape of the transverse hole while blocking fluid communication between first and second mold cavities in which the slider body and a body of the pull tab are formed respectively.

    Abstract: Male and female surface-type fastener tapes are unwound from respective spools in a housing and drawn out of the housing through a tape guide swingably disposed in a slot defined in a side panel of the housing. The spools are disconnected from the housing and can easily be replaced with new ones simply by opening a cover of the housing. The tape guide is automatically directed toward the position where the tapes are unreeled off the respective spools. Therefore, the tapes are properly and smoothly mated together by the tape guide as they are progressively passed through the tape guide.

    Abstract: A bottom stop with an ornamental design thereon has a pair of upper and lower rectangular plates spaced from each other and integrally joined by a connector post located adjacent to one end of each of the upper and lower plates. The upper plate has a pair of longitudinal side flanges having rows of sawteeth, and the lower plate has rows of sawteeth. The bottom stop can be attached to a slide fastener by inserting stringer tapes between the upper and lower plates with an end of rows of coupling elements held in abutment against the connector post, and then bending lateral portions of the lower plate adjacent to the connector post toward the upper plate until the stringer tapes of the slide fastener are gripped firmly by and between the sawteeth on the upper and lower plates.

    Abstract: An ornamental attachment for a slide fastener slider includes a body having a slot receptive of a slider pull tab having a lateral projection, the slot being defined between a plate and a pair of cantilevered resilient flaps confronting the plate and having distal edges directed toward each other. The plate or the flaps have a cam projecting into the slot. The body also has a hole adjacent to the flaps and communicates with the slot. When the pull tab is inserted into the slot, the pull tab is caused by the cam to displace or flex the flaps against the resiliency thereof until the lateral projection of the pull tab is snapped into the hole, whereupon the flaps spring back into a position in which the lateral projection is locked in the hole by the adjacent ends of the flaps.
