    Abstract: A transmission signal generating circuit in a radio base station that employs spread processing circuits in order to output spread transmission signals. The signal generating circuit further contains power class selecting circuits, which categorize spread transmission signals into power classes, a first adding circuit, which combines these signals, multipliers, which adjust transmission power of these signals for respective power classes, and a second adding circuit, which combines these signals. The circuit measures and quantinizes the total transmission power to output a power level. A power limitation control memory outputs a multiplication coefficient representing the power class for which transmission power control. Selectors in the circuit select when this control is permitted for a given power class and output this information to the multiplier corresponding to the class.

    Abstract: In a transmission signal generating circuit, spreading processing circuits spread transmission data to output spread transmission signals. Power class selecting circuits categorize the spread transmission signals into power classes. First adding circuits add/combine the spread transmission signals. Multipliers adjust transmission powers of the spread transmission signals for the respective power classes. A second adding circuit adds/combines the spread transmission signals. A total transmission power measuring means measures a total transmission power. A nonlinear quantization means nonlinearly quantizes the total transmission power and outputs a power level. A power limitation control memory outputs a multiplication coefficient for a power class for which transmission power control is permitted.

A spread processing circuit of each of dual transmission spread processing circuits is divided into two sections of an operating system spread processing section and a standby system spread processing section. Spread signals processed by the operating system spread processing section and the standby system spread processing section are addition synthesized by a first addition synthesis section and a second addition synthesis section separately from each other. An addition selection section for selecting whether or not operating system spread signals and standby system spread signals should be addition synthesized is provided in each of the transmission spread processing circuits.

The indoor unit has a plurality of second frequency converters for converting the first intermediate frequency signals into second intermediate frequency signals with the same frequency and a power combining unit for combining the second intermediate frequency signals. The combined intermediate frequency signal is demodulated by a common demodulating circuit.
