    Abstract: A bolt for a truss includes a main body having a head portion, and a shaft portion which extends from the head portion. The shaft portion includes a base portion with a polygonal cross-section at a head portion side of the shaft portion. A threaded portion extends from the base portion, and an annular groove is arranged between the base portion and the threaded portion. A polygonal tube having a polygonal cross-section is engaged with the shaft portion of the main body such that the polygonal tube is slideable and non-rotatable on the base portion. A stopper prevents release of the polygonal tube from the shaft portion, the stopper including a plastic ring having a peripheral surface on which plural engaging protrusions are formed, the ring being integratedly embedded in the annular groove.

    Abstract: A holder for a window glass of a vehicle which has a reduced number of parts, which can make the mounting operation simpler, thereby lowering costs, and which can prevent the window glass from having play or loosening. The holder comprises a nut and a bolt. The nut has a female screw sleeve portion which is to be inserted with a clearance into a mounting hole formed in the window glass, and a holding plate member radially outwardly extending from the sleeve portion. The bolt has a screw shaft member to be screwed into the female screw sleeve portion, and a holding plate member radially outwardly extending from the screw shaft member. In addition, a cushion layer made of a synthetic thermoplastic resin elastomer is attached to the inside surface of each holding plate member. The cushion layer is provided at its inner circumferential edge with a short sleeve portion for protecting an edge of the mounting hole of the window glass.

    Abstract: A die assembly for driving a pierce nut which comprises an annular coining portion provided on the top of a die body, the inner surface of the annular coining portion being continuous with a center aperture of the die body. An annular projection is provided at the upper portion of the center aperture for surely and temporarily holding punched debris in of the die body, near the annular coining portion, the center aperture. It is therefore possible to provide an inexpensive nut-driving die assembly with improved durability, and which can prevent debris, punched by shearing between a pierce nut and a metal panel and remaining at the upper portion of the center aperture, from being lifted up when the metal panel is lifted from the die body, thereby ensuring a continuous driving work.

    Abstract: A nut feeding apparatus which can surely and easily feed nuts and the like, temporarily supported in a conductor cylinder, to an underlying support member one by one, without scratching them by the downward stress or the like of a plunger. A feeder opening 2 through which nuts and the like are continuously fed from a feeding chute, support bar guide holes 3 and ball recesses 4 are provided at a lower side wall of a conductor cylinder 1 in which a plunger 21 having guide grooves 22 formed in the opposite sides of its lower portion is inserted slidably up and down. Balls 5 having a diameter slightly larger than the thickness of the wall of the conductor cylinder 1 and fitted in the respective ball recesses 4. A pair of support bars 11 are inserted slidably in the support bar guide holes 3, and have their outer ends detachably attached to associated leaf springs attached to the outer surface of the conductor cylinder 1.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a stud bolt having nonsymmetrical screw threads projecting from the shank thereof, wherein each screw thread of the stud bolt has an inwardly concave curved flank and an outwardly convex curved flank. With this arrangement, the load required to fit a resin clip over the stud bolt can be lowered below that needed for a conventional stud bolt while maintaining the load required to remove the clip equal to or more than that for the conventional bolt.     Abstract: A pierce nut has a plurality of projections which are integrally formed with a cylindrical body of the pierce nut. When the pierce nut is pressed against a metal sheet laid on a back-up die, an opening is formed in the metal sheet only by shearing force between the pierce nut and the back-up die, with no other force being used to press-break the metal sheet, and the projections are deformed by an annular bank portion of the back-up die at different portions thereof each time the back-up die is used. Thus, the use of the present pierce nut in combination with the present back-up die remarkably extends the life of the back-up die.

    Abstract: An upset bolt provided with a pressure formed recess on the bolt head. The recess is formed by the combination of three separate surfaces, that is, concave, convex and flat standing surfaces which respectively form lower, middle and upper portions of the recess. By virture of provision of the concave and convex surfaces respectively in lower and middle portions of the recess, stress concentration occurs in the region along the concave and concave surfaces when the recess is pressure formed. Since the region of stress concentration is positioned away from the neck portion of the bolt body, the breaking strength is remarkably increased as compared with conventional upset bolt in which the stress concentration occurs in a region near the neck portion of the bolt body.
