  • Patent number: 5115254
Abstract: A thermal transfer recording apparatus is disclosed and includes a recording medium sheet formed of a plastic film material having numerous minute voids therein, and a thermal recording sheet formed of a heat resistive base sheet with opposing surfaces and a thermal transfer layer coated onto one of the opposing surfaces of the base sheet. The thermal transfer layer comprises an ink material containing a binder material and being transferable to the recording medium sheet, and particles which are solid at room temperature and are mixed into the transfer layer in order to form minute protrusions on a surface of the thermal transfer layer. The apparatus also includes a heater for raising the temperature of the thermal transfer layer in a controlled manner so as to decrease the viscosity of the thermal transfer layer.

  • Patent number: 5040027
Abstract: A printing apparatus is disclosed. A toner image is formed on an image carrier. A solvent supply device supplies a solvent to the toner image in a direction toward such a side that the toner image makes contact with an image bearing medium, the solvent lowering the viscosity of the powder image. A transfer device presses the image bearing medium against the toner image of which viscosity is lowered by the solvent, thereby transferring the toner image to the image bearing medium.

  • Patent number: 4670307
Abstract: A thermal transfer recording sheet is produced by placing, on one side of a sheet-like heat-resistant substrate successively along the surface, one or more thermal transfer recording layers containing a recording material which contains a binder material and a coloring material and whose viscosity is lowered and controlled by temperature-raise recording control, so that transferability to recording medium is imparted, and a thermal transfer coating layer containing a hot-melt material which is miscible (compatible) with at least a part of said binder material. The thermal transfer recording using said thermal transfer recording sheet is characterized by first subjecting the thermal transfer coating layer to temperature-raise recording control, forming a film of the hot-melt material on the surface of the recording material at least on a portion to which the recording material is transferred, and conducting thereon thermal transfer recording as usual.

  • Patent number: 4474872
Abstract: A method for producing a photographic emulsion is disclosed. The method includes the process of adding a dispersion of a substantially water-insoluble photographic additive to a photographic emulsion. The dispersion being prepared merely by mechanically grinding and dispersing the photographic additive in a form of fine grain having a size of 1.mu. or less in an aqueous system adjusted to a pH value of 6 to 8 and controlled to a temperature of 60.degree. to 80.degree. C. The additive is included in the photographic emulsion without the need of an organic solvent. The emulsion of the invention can be easily and quickly coated to form a uniform layer.

  • Patent number: 4412351
Abstract: A microwave mixing circuit comprises a main transmission line having an input port for receiving an input high frequency and an output port, a band pass filter responsive to a local oscillation frequency, first and second band stop filters, and a mixing diode connected to the output port. The local oscillation frequency applied via the band pass filter to the main transmission line is prevented from being transmitted toward the input port because of the first band stop filter, while an image frequency produced by the diode is reflected by the second band stop filter to be applied to the diode.

  • Patent number: 4237373
Abstract: The present invention is a magnetic tape running state and tape run amount display device which displays visually the running direction and speed or the run amount and direction of the magnetic tape. An up-down counter is provided with a clock input signal having a pulse generated in correspondence with the run of the tape and is also provided with a count control signal. The count control signal has an UP signal generated when the tape is being transported in a first or forward direction, and has a DOWN signal generated when the tape is being transported in a second or reverse direction. The up-down counter provides a binary output count signal to a display circuit in correspondence with the clock input signal and the count control signal. The up-down counter can also be provided with a reset input responsive to a reset signal which acts to reset the count back to logic 0.

  • Patent number: 4205353
Abstract: A combination device having a magnetic recording and reproducing unit and an electronic tuning type receiver, where the channel presetting switches of the electronic tuning type receiver also can act as the operating switches of the magnetic recording and reproducing unit. The electronic tuning type receiver is of the type which is tuned by control signals provided to a tuning means by a plurality of channel selecting switches. A selection circuit is interposed between the tuning means and the plurality of channel selecting switches and provides the plurality of control signals to the tuning means when a selection switch is in a first binary state, and provides the plurality of control signals to a tape-control section when the selection switch is in a second binary state. The tape-control section, in response to the plurality of control signals, controls the mode of operation of the magnetic recording and reproducing unit, and also provides a signal indicating the mode of operation to a sensing circuit.
