  • Patent number: 6292263
Abstract: A 3D measuring apparatus is disclosed, in which a light beam is projected in such a manner as to raster scan toward a virtual surface. Specific data corresponding to the angle of incidence of the light beam is output, which light beam is reflected from an object of measurement at the time point of passing through each of a plurality of sampling sections into which the virtual surface is segmented in the main scanning direction X and the subsidiary scanning direction Y. With the position data Xg in the main scanning direction and the position data Yg in the subsidiary scanning direction for each sampling section as an address, the specific data are written in a memory. Also, the incident light beam is received by a photo-electric conversion device of one-dimensional position detection type, and the optical image of the object is compressed unidirectionally and formed on the photo-detection surface of the photo-electric conversion device.

  • Patent number: 6268918
Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting a three-dimensional image. The apparatus includes a projector which projects a reference light on an object; an image sensor which senses an image of the object; and a controller for controlling the projector and the image sensor, wherein the image sensor includes an aperture that restricts the passage of entering light; and an aperture controller for setting an aperture value for the aperture when receiving a two-dimensional image input, and setting an aperture value for the aperture when receiving a three-dimensional image input. The aperture value is set based on the intensity of received reference light. A processing unit determines the position of the object based on a relationship between an illumination direction of the reference light at the determined time center Npeak and an entrance direction of the reference light relative to the target pixel.

  • Patent number: 6233049
Abstract: A three-dimensional measurement device employs a slit ray projection technique to optically determine a three-dimensional image. The device offers a choice in operating modes between high-speed measurement, high-resolution measurement and large dynamic range in the depth direction, to accommodate various situations. The different modes of operation are achieved by selectively modifying one or more of the scanning speed of a projected reference beam, the readout speed of a photosensor, the line width or line spacing of the photosensor, and the number of lines per image frame.

  • Patent number: 6172488
Abstract: A series compensation generator SCG is installed in a transmission line that links various substations SS and the transmission capability of the system as a whole can be increased by regulating the equivalent reactance of the transmission line. Series compensation generator SCG generates a voltage of which the phase angle is shifted substantially 90° in relation to the current flowing in the transmission line, and it also generates a voltage that compensates the voltage drop due to the equivalent reactance. Also, when an electrical fluctuation phenomenon (power oscillation) occurs in the transmission line, it is possible speedily to suppress the power oscillation by detecting the power fluctuation of the transmission line and controlling the compensating voltage of series compensation generator SCG so that it suppresses that power fluctuation.

  • Patent number: 5483435
Abstract: A power generation system is constituted by an induction generator and a converter. An output current waveform of the induction generator is determined by the magnetic flux, speed, winding impedance, DC output voltage, and load of the induction generator. In particular, the output current waveform is changed in accordance with a change in speed (i.e., change in slip). Switching elements in the converter are ON/OFF-controlled in accordance with changes in current waveform, thereby controlling power generation of the induction generator.
