  • Patent number: 5654623
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to enable electronic apparatuses to display the remaining power of exchangeable batteries at any given time. A battery pack having a battery and an ID generator is attached to an electronic apparatus. The accumulated consumption hours of the battery is stored in a battery information memory for each battery ID. A remaining power detector determines the remaining battery power on the basis of the accumulated consumption hours and displays it on a display unit. Because the remaining battery power is determined based on the consumption hours of a battery, the running hours of a battery can be displayed at any given time.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 10, 1996
Date of Patent: August 5, 1997
    Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki Kaisha
Inventors: Masaaki Shiga, Kiyoaki Kikuchi, Masahiko Kumagai, Yoshiaki Takahira, Hiroshige Suzuki

  • Patent number: 4517305
Abstract: Finely divided silicon carbide containing at least 10% by weight of 2H-type silicon carbide is very easily sinterable and can be sintered into a sintered body having a density of at least 85% of the theoretical density by sintering or a hot pressing at a temperature lower than the sintering temperature of ordinary .beta.-type submicron silicon carbide.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 30, 1982

    Inventors: Hiroshige Suzuki, Teizo Hase
  • Patent number: 4368181
Abstract: A method of producing inexpensive .beta.-silicon carbide at a relatively low temperature and in a high yield, wherein a raw material mixture consisting of carbonaceous powder having a particle size of not larger than 60 .mu.m and silica powder having a particle size of not larger than 150 .mu.m is continuously heated in a reaction system having a high temperature zone and a low temperature zone to form silicon monoxide in the reaction system together with SiC; the silicon monoxide is condensed at the low temperature zone to capture and is recovered in the reaction product; and the recovered product during the reaction or after the reaction is stirred, mixed and pulverized.

  • Patent number: 4342837
Abstract: Silicon carbide powders suitable for producing sintered body having a high density are produced by reacting 1.7 to 2.1 parts by weight of silicon monoxide with 1.0 part by weight of finely divided carbon at a temperature of 1,200.degree. to 1,500.degree. C. under a reduced pressure of lower than 10 mmHg.

  • Patent number: 4155377
Abstract: A hot fluid-conducting pipe assembly, comprising an inner metal pipe through which flows a hot fluid,Support pins regularly arranged on and outwardly projecting from the outer surface of the inner metal pipe,Refractory of said coupling members fixed to the inner metal pipe by the support pins, each coupling members having upper and lower faces concentric with the surface of the inner metal pipe, trapezoidal side faces in the longitudinal direction of the inner metal pipe, and sectorial side faces in the circumferential direction of the inner metal pipe,Heat-insulating refractory blocks mounted between the coupling members and each having an underside portion provided with a cushioning layer formed of an elastic refractory material,A heat-insulating layer formed of an elastic refractory material and uniformly covering the upper faces of the coupling members and of the heat-insulating blocks, andAn outer metal pipe covering the heat-insulating layer.

  • Patent number: 4117096
Abstract: A process for producing a powder of .beta.-type silicon carbide, which comprises heating at a temperature of about 800.degree. to about 1,400.degree. C a mixture of a carbon powder having a particle size of about 20 microns or less and a metallic silicon powder with a carbon-to-silicon molar ratio of 1 : 0.6 to 1 : 2 in an oxidizing atmosphere having an oxygen concentration of 0.3 to 35% by volume, thereby to induce a spontaneous continuous reaction between carbon and silicon.
