    Abstract: [Object] To provide an illumination device that enables uniform illumination by preventing an air layer from intervening between an adhesive layer and a substrate through manual bonding of a reflection sheet, and a display device including the illumination device. [Solution] An illumination device includes a substrate including a wiring pattern, a plurality of light sources connected to the wiring pattern, an adhesive layer disposed on the substrate, and a reflection sheet bonded to the substrate with the adhesive layer interposed therebetween. The reflection sheet includes openings corresponding to the plurality of light sources. In a first direction, the reflection sheet is located between the substrate and light-emitting surfaces of the light sources. The substrate has an air vent in an area in which the wiring pattern is not disposed and the adhesive layer is disposed.
