  • Publication number: 20160107283
Abstract: A machine tool includes: a column movably supported on a bed; a saddle movably supported on the column; a ram movably supported on the saddle; moving means for moving the column, the saddle, and the ram respectively along movement axes; a table where a workpiece is placed; table-tilt detecting means for detecting atilt of the table; and controlling means for controlling the moving means based on a detection result from the table-tilt detecting means.

  • Patent number: 8668414
Abstract: In a machine tool, a column base (12) is supported on a bed (11) movably in a horizontal direction, and a column (13) is installed vertically on the column base (12). A saddle (14) is supported on a side of the column (13) movably in a vertical direction, and a ram stock (15) is supported on the saddle (14) movably in a horizontal direction. A main spindle (16) is rotatably supported by the ram stock (15). A weight (22) is supported in the column (13) movably in a direction parallel to the ram stock (15), so that the weight (22) can be moved horizontally by a servo motor (23). An NC device (25) moves the weight (22) by the servo motor (23) synchronously with a movement of the ram stock (15), to adjust balance of the column (13), thereby enabling to reduce the size of an apparatus and realize space saving.

  • Publication number: 20130202373
Abstract: It is intended to provide a machining tool provided with a ram, which has a simple structure and an inexpensive device cost, and is capable of correcting a deflection of a tip of a main shaft unit caused by extending the ram. A deflection correction device for a ram 1 in a machining tool which is provided with a saddle 13 moving vertically along a guide of a column 14 and the ram 1 housing a main shaft unit 15 and being fitted in the saddle 13 slidably in a horizontal direction. The device may include a plurality of hydrostatic bearings 2a via which the saddle 13 is supported by the column 14 in a longitudinal direction of the column 14, and a control unit 10 which controls a hydraulic pressure of the hydrostatic bearing 2a in accordance with a vertical displacement of the ram 1 to maintain a straightness of the ram 1 in a direction of a main shaft of the ram 1 so as to correct a misalignment of the main shaft unit 15 by an inclination of the saddle 13 caused by controlling the hydraulic pressure.

  • Publication number: 20100310334
Abstract: In a machine tool or a processing method, a column base (12) is supported on a bed (11) movably in a horizontal direction, and a column (13) is installed vertically on the column base (12). A saddle (14) is supported on a side of the column (13) movably in a vertical direction, and a ram stock (15) is supported on the saddle (14) movably in a horizontal direction. A spindle (16) is rotatably supported by the ram stock (15), a damper (21) is provided on the ram stock (15), and an O-ring (22) is provided between the ram stock (15) and the damper (21), so that the O-ring (22) can be deformed by a pressing member (23). An NC device (24) can adjust a deformation degree of the O-ring (22) by the pressing member (23) depending on a mass of an attachment (17). Therefore, vibration of a tool can be effectively damped by changing a natural frequency according to replacement or movement of the attachment.
