  • Publication number: 20160181960
Abstract: A motor control apparatus controls a motor system including a motor and an inverter that outputs electric power to the motor. The motor control apparatus includes an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to set a q-axis current value in response to a torque command value, and execute system loss reduction control for controlling a d-axis current value such that system loss, which is the sum of a copper loss, an iron loss and an inverter loss, is smaller than system loss at a time when motor loss, which is the sum of the copper loss and the iron loss, is a minimum. The copper loss, the iron loss and the inverter loss change as a current phase of a current vector changes in a q-d plane.

  • Patent number: 9343943
Abstract: A rotary electric machine includes a rotor that is arranged such that an axis of rotation of the rotor extends in a horizontal direction, a stator that is provided with an coil end on which coolant is supplied from a position above the coil end in a direction of gravitational force, and a temperature sensor that is arranged on an outer peripheral face of the coil end at a position near a horizontal plane that includes the axis of rotation of the rotor. When the flow rate of the coolant is below a threshold the temperature sensor measures the coil temperature. When the flow rate of the coolant is above a threshold, so that coolant is in direct contact with the temperature sensor, it measures the coolant temperature.

  • Publication number: 20150364977
Abstract: A flat wire (36) that forms a stator coil (16) has an insertion portion (22) that is inserted into a slot (14), and a coil end portion (30) that protrudes from an end portion of the stator coil (16). An insulating layer of an adjacent portion (38) that is adjacent to a flat wire (36) of a different phase at the coil end portion (30) is thicker than an insulating layer in another region. Setting the thickness of the insulating layer of each part according to the required insulation performance in this way makes it possible to make the overall insulating layer thinner, and improve the in-slot space factor of the stator coil while ensuring insulation performance.

  • Publication number: 20150311761
Abstract: A slot insulating paper (12) is arranged in a slot (18) of a core (10) of an electric motor or generator. In a state where the slot insulating paper (12) is spread in a sheet shape, a region (high stiffness portion (36)) that is part of the slot insulating paper (12) is a breakage resistance portion having a higher resistance against breakage than the other region (ordinary portion (38)). The slot insulating paper (12) may be formed by laminating a plurality of insulating layers. In the breakage resistance portion, for example, at least one of the laminated insulating layers is a high stiffness layer formed of a high stiffness material. Thus, the breakage resistance portion is formed to have a high stiffness. With a high stiffness, it is possible to improve breakage resistance.
