    Abstract: An image reading apparatus includes: N sensor chips arranged in a first direction and each including a plurality of image pickup elements arranged in the first direction; N optical systems that form, on the N sensor chips, reduced-size images of N reading ranges arranged in the first direction on a document; and an image processing section that uses image data of overlap regions to obtain positions of the overlap regions, obtains, based on the positions and predetermined synthesis reference positions in the overlap regions, magnifications of read images and synthesis positions, performs image processing of correcting the magnifications in the first direction of the image data of the N reading ranges, and combines the image data of the N reading ranges subjected to the image processing, thereby generating synthesized image data.

    Abstract: The scanning charged particle beam microscope according to the present application is characterized in that, in acquiring an image of the FOV (field of view), interspaced beam irradiation points are set, and then, a deflector is controlled so that a charged particle beam scan is performed faster when the charged particle beam irradiates a position on the sample between each of the irradiation points than when the charged particle beam irradiates a position on the sample corresponding to each of the irradiation points (a position on the sample corresponding to each pixel detecting a signal). This allows the effects from a micro-domain electrification occurring within the FOV to be mitigated or controlled.

    Abstract: To reduce collision noise created by the operation of an electromagnetic suction valve provided on a high pressure fuel supply pump, the mass of a member which collides by magnetic attractive force is reduced. The noise generated when a core and an anchor collide with each other by magnetic attractive force depends on the magnitude of the kinetic energy of a moving element. The kinetic energy to be consumed in the collision is only the kinetic energy of the anchor. The kinetic energy of a rod, being absorbed by a spring, does not contribute to the noise; thus, the energy when the anchor and the core collide with each other can be reduced, whereby the noise to be created can be reduced.

Therefore, it is possible to narrow the clearance between the inner circumference of the rotor and the outer circumference of the stator such that it is possible to achieve high efficiency of the motor.
