  • Patent number: 6229882
Abstract: By using an external portable recording medium that stores a personal ID, a communications apparatus automatically transmits the personal ID and its own terminal identification information to a center apparatus. The center apparatus manages the personal ID and the terminal identification information so that they are correlated with each other. For example, the terminal identification information includes a called-party address, a communication mode, and a position ID Further, the center apparatus manages a present/absent mode for each personal ID. During the present mode, the center apparatus forwards a call using a personal telecommunication number, such as a UPT (universal personal telecommunication) number, which corresponds to a certain personal ID to a communications apparatus that corresponds to the personal ID. During the absent mode, the center apparatus automatically records a message.

  • Patent number: 6130949
Abstract: A time difference .DELTA..tau. between the arrival of acoustic signals from sound sources to microphones 1, 2 is detected from output channel signals L, R from microphones 1, 2. By Fourier transform, the signals L, R are divided into respective frequency bands L(f1)-L(fn), R(f1)-R(fn). Differences .DELTA..tau.i (i=1, 2, . . . n) in the time-of-arrival of L(f1)-L(fn) and R(f1)-R(fn) to the microphones 1, 2 as well as a signal level difference .DELTA.Li are detected. L(f1)-L(fn), R(f1)-R(fn) are divided into a low range of fi<1/(2 .DELTA..tau.), a middle range of 1/(2 .DELTA..tau.) <fi<1/.DELTA..tau., and a high range of fi>1/.DELTA..tau.. Utilizing .DELTA..tau.i for the low range, .DELTA.Li and .DELTA..tau.i for the middle range and .DELTA.Li for the high range, a determination is made from which sound source L(fi), R(fi) are oncoming to deliver outputs separately for each sound source. The outputs are subject to an inverse Fourier transform for synthesis separately for each sound source.

  • Patent number: 6062423
Abstract: A chip component take-in apparatus takes in and guides downward prismatic chip components stored in a bulk state in a storage chamber one by one in a predetermined direction. When a first take-in member and a second take-in member are relatively moved up and down in each flat face contact state, the chip components in face contact with the flat faces of the take-in members are gradually guided to a center along guide ways. The guided chip components in the longitudinal direction thereof are taken into a passage constituted by grooves and are moved downward along the passage by self-weight.

  • Patent number: 6006789
Abstract: A steel mother pipe obtained by a solid phase butt-welding pipe-making process or a welding pipe-making process is reduced by heating the pipe prior to the reduction at a temperature exceeding 100.degree. C. and lower than 800.degree. C. wherein the temperature of the steel pipe being reduced is controlled within a defined range. The temperature difference along the circumferential direction of the mother pipe at the inlet side of a reducer is within a defined range, and the temperature of the steel pipe at interstand positions of the reducer is also controlled. By virtue of this control, the reduction becomes possible at low load while suppressing work hardening without degrading surface properties. The resultant product pipe has a dimensional accuracy maintained at a high level.

  • Patent number: 5592317
Abstract: A chromium blank for forming a black matrix-screen to be used as a color filter for a liquid crystal display is formed by forming at least a first antireflection film, a second antireflection film and a screening film sequentially in that order on one major surface of a transparent substrate. Each of the first and the second antireflection film is a semitransparent film formed of a chromium compound or a chromium mixture, containing chromium as a principal component, and the screening film is formed of chromium, a chromium compound containing chromium as a principal component. The transparent substrate, the first antireflection film, the second antireflection film and the screening film meet an inequality: n.sub.s <n.sub.1 <n.sub.2 <n.sub.3, where n.sub.s is the refractive index of the transparent substrate, n.sub.1 is the real part of the complex index of refraction of the first antireflection film, n.sub.2 is the real part of the complex index of refraction of the second antireflection film, and n.

  • Patent number: 5127330
Abstract: For printing fine patterns, a fine pattern of a setting type ink is applied to a printing plate surface to become printing elements. Then, the setting type ink thus applied on the printing plate is subjected to a setting treatment thereby to set at least one part of the ink pattern, and thereafter the printing plate and an object to be printed are pressed relatively against each other thereby to transfer the ink pattern onto the print object. The printing plate can be an intaglio plate or a lithographic plate. Fine patterns of printing element widths as fine as 3 .mu.m with an ink film thickness of 2 .mu.m can be printed efficiently with the high precision on various objects including hard and rigid objects.

  • Patent number: 4782707
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting the flow amount of a fluid passing through a passage. The apparatus comprises a scroll chamber having a circular horizontal cross section and having an inlet opening defined in a tangential direction of the scroll chamber and an outlet opening defined at a substantial center portion of a bottom surface of the scroll chamber. The fluid is introduced through the inlet opening and discharged from the outlet opening. In the scroll chamber, a conically protruding member is provided on a substantial center portion of the top surface of the scroll chamber so as to be protruded vertically and downwardly along the axis of the scroll chamber. A spheral member encased in the scroll chamber is turned about the protruding member and along a wall of the scroll chamber in response to introduction of the fluid through the inlet opening. The flow amount of fluid is measured by detecting the number of turns of the spheral member.

  • Patent number: 4581779
Abstract: A washing apparatus body mounted on a toilet bowl is provided with a hot-water tank supplied with water by a feed water supply device, such as a pump, a function changeover valve connected to the hot-water tank, a plurality of nozzles connected to the function changeover valve, at least a part of the nozzles being provided within the washing apparatus body, and a vacuum releasing valve positioned in the water path between the hot-water tank and the function changeover valve for discharging water in the water path downstream therefrom after use of the apparatus so that no water remains in the downstream water path in a standby state. Hot-water paths leading from the hot-water tank to the nozzles are made as short as possible so as to permit hot water from the hot-water tank to jet out from the respective nozzles toward a user in a short period of time upon the starting of washing and to minimize heat losses in the lines.
