Small valleys whose inside and outside diameter dimensions at bottoms are greater than those of the intermediate valleys are respectively arranged between the large valleys and the intermediate valleys. The peaks are respectively arranged between the large valleys and the small valleys as well as between the intermediate valleys and the small valleys, and apexes of the peaks have a same outside diameter dimension as one another. The apexes of the peaks are made thinner than the bottoms of the large valleys.

Abstract: An anti-vibration rubber member includes: a rubber elastic body made of a self-lubricating rubber containing an elastomer and a bleeding lubricant; a coating film that covers at least a portion of a sliding inner surface that is among a surface of the rubber elastic body and disposed on an inner side of the sliding surface, contains a resin having a mercapto group, is deformable to follow up deformation of the rubber elastic body, and is formed with a plurality of minute holes capable of reserving the bleeding lubricant which has oozed out of the rubber elastic body; and a lubricating film that covers at least a portion of a surface of the coating film, is formed to include the bleeding lubricant penetrating the coating film from the rubber elastic body and oozing onto the surface of the coating film, and forms at least a portion of the sliding surface.

Abstract: An upper support for vehicle suspension including: an inner cylindrical member; an outer cylindrical member spaced apart peripherally outward from the inner cylindrical member; a rubber elastic body interposed between the inner cylindrical member and the outer cylindrical member while elastically connecting the two members; and a flange portion extending radially outward from the outer cylindrical member while being adapted to be overlapped and fixed onto a mounting portion of a vehicle body. A fastening seat portion is provided to the flange portion over a prescribed area and has a contact face adapted to be in contact against the mounting portion of the vehicle body. A concave/convex portion is formed on the contact face of the fastening seat portion over a prescribed area thereof.

Abstract: When manufacturing an upper support which includes a cup piece as an inner piece, an outer piece, and a rubber elastic body integrally vulcanize adhered thereto, the shape of a tubular portion of a cup piece before integral vulcanized adhesion with the rubber elastic body is a shape having a large diameter portion at a top portion continuous with a flanged portion, a small diameter portion at a bottom portion, and a stepped portion therebetween. Following integral vulcanized adhesion with the rubber elastic body, only the small diameter portion is diameter widened by press-fitting a diameter widening jig to impart pre-compression to the rubber elastic body. No roll-back deformation of a flanged portion occurs when integrally vulcanize adhering the cup piece to the rubber elastic body, and also when imparting pre-compression to the rubber elastic body by diameter widening a tubular portion of the cup piece.

Abstract: It is found that the amount of wear of a tread rubber of a tire, which is abandoned as wear life of the tread rubber expires, is not uniform over the entire width, and there is a high correlation between distribution in the tread width direction of the remaining thickness of the tread rubber of the abandoned tire and distribution in the tread width direction of wear effective rubber volume. On the basis of this finding, it is possible to improve wear life of a pneumatic tire 1, by making volume distribution of a base rubber layer 8 of a tread rubber 4, which has a layered structure, equal to distribution of the wear effective rubber layer, so that the tread rubber 4 wears equally in the tread width direction.

Abstract: It is intended to provide a regenerable cell in which a desired chromosome has been deleted, a method for producing the cell, and a gene cassette and a kit to be used for the method. More particularly, it is intended to obtain an individual corresponding pluripotent stem cell easily and simply. More specifically, it is intended to efficiently establish a cell, tissue or organ that can be a donor for treating a disease without causing immune rejection response, without newly obtaining and establishing a stem cell such as ES cell from the individual, and without using an ovum as a material. It was achieved by a gene cassette in which not two recombinase recognition sites in a cis orientation are inserted, but one recombinase recognition site or two recombinase recognition sites in an opposite orientation is/are inserted and a marker gene is connected, and by application of the gene cassette to a cell fusion technique.

Abstract: A communication apparatus is provided that can urge a person who is not at home such as, for example, a child to come back home when scheduled coming home time comes and can inform a notification of the time at which the child comes home, for example, to the parent. Abstract: A method for producing a tobacco filter material which is either (A) a coating process for coating the surface of a fibrous or particulate cellulose with a cellulose ester having an average substitution degree of about 2.0 to about 2.6 to give a coated cellulose, and wet webbing the coated cellulose into a sheet, or (B) a treating process for treating a naturally-occurring or regenerated cellulose fiber or particle with an organic acid and an organic acid anhydride or organic acid halide in a liquid phase to give a cellulose derivative.

Abstract: A tobacco filter with a circumferential length of 17 to 27 mm is prepared by creping or embossing, with a roller of a temperature not lower than 100.degree. C., a sheet-like material comprising not less than 20% by weight of a cellulose ester component and having a web structure with a basis weight of 20 to 35 g/m.sup.2 and a density of 0.25 to 0.45 g/cm.sup.3, and wrapping up the creped or embossed material into a rod form. The cellulose ester component includes e.g. a cellulose ester short staple, a fibrillated fiber, an esterified fiber and a fiber coated with a cellulose ester. This tobacco filter shows a pressure drop of 200 to 500 mm WG, a firmness of 88% or more and a cross-sectional porosity of 2% or less provided that it has a circumferential length of 24.5 mm and a length of 10 cm.

Abstract: A fatty acid ester of cellulose having excellent transparency, filterability and spinnability in spite of its high content of mannose and xylose, wherein the total molar content of mannose and xylose accounts for at least 7% of that of glucose, mannose and xylose, and the amount of filtration satisfies a specified requirement. Such a fatty acid ester of cellulose is prepared by using a pulp having a low .alpha.-cellulose content as a raw material and a fatty acid corresponding to the ester as a diluent and adding an organic solvent in an amount of at least 10% by weight based on the diluent in any step during the preparation. In the preparation of cellulose diacetate, which excellent filterability and transparency, by the acetic acid process, the cellulose diacetate obtained by aging is dissolved in a solvent which can dissolve it and the resulting cellulose diacetate is recovered.
