  • Patent number: 11941549
Abstract: The management device of an autonomous driving vehicle includes a congestion rate calculation unit and a waiting place setting unit. The congestion rate calculation unit is able to calculate the congestion rate of a parking lot adjoining each of a plurality of commercial facilities. In a case where the congestion rate of a neighbor parking lot, or a parking lot in the neighborhood of a boarding place contained in reservation information for an autonomous driving vehicle reserved for dispatch, during a waiting time period before the scheduled boarding time, is less than a congestion threshold, the waiting place setting unit sets the neighbor parking lot as a waiting place for the autonomous driving vehicle to wait during the waiting time period.

  • Patent number: 10253877
Abstract: In a case where intermediate gear stage fault occurs, an electronic control unit determines, using a predetermined relationship for determining gear stage switching between a gear stage on a lower side than the intermediate gear stage by one stage and the intermediate gear stage, whether or not to execute gear stage switching between the low gear stage and a gear stage on a higher than the intermediate gear stage by one stage. For example, compared to using a relationship for determining gear stage switching between a gear stage on the higher side and the intermediate gear stage, it is possible to execute gear stage switching between a gear stage on the lower side and a gear stage on the higher side in a low vehicle speed region. Therefore, it is possible to suppress the influence on vehicle behavior.

  • Patent number: 10030763
Abstract: In a control apparatus for a vehicle, when it is not determined that a downshift to a second gear stage should be carried out and an accelerator depression amount change rate is equal to or smaller than a predetermined value when it is determined that a downshift to a first gear stage should be carried out, a single downshift command to the first gear stage is output. When it is not determined that the downshift to the second gear stage should be carried out and the accelerator depression amount change rate is larger than the predetermined value when it is determined that the downshift to the first gear stage should be carried out, a current gear stage is maintained. Therefore, a skip downshift to the second gear stage can be carried out when it is determined that the downshift to the second gear stage should be carried out.

  • Patent number: 8738253
Abstract: An ECU controls an automatic transmission that can be manually shifted. The ECU executes a program that includes i) the step of, when there are a plurality of allowed gears that are allowed at the time of a downshift operation, continuously determining whether the engine speed NE after a downshift will be in a preset overspeed region for each allowed gear when the second and subsequent allowed gears are lower than an output gear, and when there is an allowed gear that will result in the engine speed NE being in the overspeed region, ii) the step of cancelling that allowed gear. Thus this control appropriately suppresses overspeeding of the engine while executing a manual shift in response to an operation by the driver without bothering the driver.

  • Patent number: 8655576
Abstract: A fuel-saving drive recommendation system is mounted on a vehicle that includes a step-gear automatic transmission of which a gear is shifted in response to a gear instruction signal. The fuel-saving drive recommendation system calculates a required driving force based on an amount by which an output operating component is operated by a driver and a gear of the automatic transmission, makes determination for fuel-saving drive for the vehicle based on the required driving force and notifies the determination result. The fuel-saving drive recommendation system calculates a required driving force for performing output control on an engine and a required driving force for determining whether it is a fuel-saving drive state. A determination gear signal different from the gear instruction signal is used when the determination required driving force is calculated, and is changed to coincide with the gear instruction signal that has been changed.

  • Patent number: 8630775
Abstract: When an automatic transmission is in a manual mode, a transmission ECU calculates a speed sftrng manually requested by the driver and a speed sftrngmap set by a shift map and then performs a shift prohibition procedure. In this procedure, if the engine coolant temperature is equal to or lower than a predetermined coolant temperature or the AT fluid temperature is equal to or lower than a predetermined fluid temperature, a prohibition, determination flag xthlow is set to “on”, and if the engine coolant temperature is higher than the predetermined coolant temperature and the AT fluid temperature is higher than the predetermined fluid temperature, the prohibition determination flag xthlow is set to “off”. When the prohibitions determination flag xthlow is “on”, the speed sftrngmap is set as the upper limit of the speed sftrng.

  • Patent number: 8396635
Abstract: A control apparatus for a multi-speed automatic transmission which is equipped with a manual shift mode that allows a speed step to be shifted up or down manually by an operation of a driver of the vehicle is provided. The control apparatus permits a downshift to be manually performed, provided that during the manual mode, one of vehicle speed, engine rotation speed, and turbine rotation speed of the multi-speed automatic transmission is less than or equal to a downshift permission criterion value that is set according to the speed step achieved by the downshift. The control apparatus corrects the downshift permission criterion value by a speed-value-increasing correction amount that is computed according to the situation of travel of the vehicle. The control apparatus includes a speed-value-increasing correction amount computation portion that computes the speed-value-increasing correction amount separately for each of numbers of steps over which downshifts occur.
