  • Publication number: 20070216814
Abstract: A receiver apparatus 3 has a digital circuit portion 13 that converts a compressed digital signal outputted from a digital demodulating portion 12 into digital video and audio signals and a video/audio output circuit 14 that converts the digital video and audio signals outputted from the digital circuit portion 13 into analog video and audio signals. With this configuration, a video/audio processing IC for digital signal processing no longer needs to be mounted on the circuit board of a video display apparatus 4, and thus a receiver system can be realized with a video display apparatus having a simple configuration.

  • Publication number: 20070172979
Abstract: The present invention relates to a manufacturing method which uses an ink jet method for forming various kinds of thin films in an electronic device such as an organic EL panel or an organic thin film transistor and ink suitably used in the method. The manufacturing method manufactures an electronic device such as an organic layer which forms a pixel portion of a hole injection layer or the like of an organic EL panel or an active layer of an organic thin film transistor using ink composition which is formed by adding tertiary-alcohol into ink which uses water as a main solvent. As the tertiary-alcohol, 3-methyl-1-butyn-3-ol may be used. An addition quantity of alcohol with respect to ink is set to a value which falls within a range from approximately 25wt % to 40wt %.

  • Publication number: 20060171343
Abstract: In a conventional content transmission system, there has been a problem that it takes a long time from when a user, who tries to start viewing and listening of content, issues a command to a receiver by using a remote controller or the like until when the user can actually view and listen to the content from content viewing and listening equipment (content starting time). To this end, a content transmission system according to the present invention has a transmitter and a receiver including a human sensor and has a configuration that the state of the receiver is changed corresponding to a detection result of the human sensor so as to reduce the content starting time and power consumption.

  • Publication number: 20050157745
Abstract: The subject invention provides a communication management system that allots transmission rights according to requests from the communication stations. The allocation of the transmission rights is carried out within a specified predefined period. The system re-allots transmission rights to at least a part of the communication stations at a time point where all communication stations, that have been provided with transmission rights, consume their transmission right grant periods, or complete their transmission within the transmission right grant periods. With this arrangement, it is possible to securely prevent waste of the communication band, realizing effective use of the communication band. Further, the transmission station in a tolerable communication condition can be immune to bad influence from the transmission station in a bad condition.

  • Patent number: 6882402
Abstract: Glass substrates interposed by unhardened thermosetting sealing material is surrounded by two sheets. The space between the sheets is placed in a roughly sealed state and decompressed to produce at least a partial vacuum between the sheets. The sheets serve to press the glass substrates against the sealing material by the pressure difference relative to the atmospheric pressure. One or more heaters spaced apart from the sheets heat the glass substrates and the sealing material, setting the sealing material.

  • Patent number: 6867841
Abstract: The invention provides a high quality liquid crystal panel with low non-uniformity by enveloping a pair of glass substrates sandwiching an uncured thermosetting seal member with heat-resistant metal sheets, bringing the insides of the sheets into a substantially hermetically closed state to decompress the space around the substrates, pressing the glass substrates and the seal member by a pressure difference from the atmospheric pressure in a predetermined space created by the enveloping sheets, heating the sheets, the glass substrates and the seal member with a heater disposed at a position remote from the sheet and curing the seal member, and maintaining the gap between the pair of glass substrates to prevent non-uniformity of the gap between the pair of glass substrates constituting the liquid crystal panel.

  • Publication number: 20040160566
Abstract: A substrate includes fluid control walls for controlling the liquid crystal fluid closer to the liquid crystal dropped spot of a display area or frame-like fluid control walls between a sealing material and the display area. After the liquid crystal is dropped on the display area, a pair of substrates are pasted and then picked out in the atmosphere for applying pressure onto the pair of substrates and diffusing the liquid crystal. The liquid crystal fluid control walls serve to control the liquid crystal fluid, thereby suppressing the liquid crystal contamination caused by the contact of the unhardened sealing material with the liquid crystal and the relevant display failure.

  • Patent number: 6415531
Abstract: A plane-shaped lighting device has a light-directing plate and a light source that is placed in contact with or in the proximity of the light-incident surface of the light-directing plate, and the light source is constituted of a plurality of LED lamps each of which has an LED chip for emitting light and a semispherical lens for directing the light from the LED chip into the light-directing plate. Here, the distance from the LED chip to the top of the semispherical lens is set to be 1.8 times as long as the radius of curvature of the semispherical lens. This arrangement allows the light emitted from the LED chip to be efficiently incident on the light-incident surface of the light-directing plate, thereby improving the light-incidence efficiency to the light-directing plate. Further, the application of this plane-shaped lighting device to display devices makes it possible to improve the efficiency of light utilization, and consequently to provide thinner display devices with high visibility.

  • Patent number: 4273811
Abstract: A method whereby slip is applied for providing an enamel coating to interior surfaces of a tank such as a heat exchanger of a hot water boiler, electric water heater and the like fabricated beforehand as by welding. In this method, a larger amount of slip than that actually required for applying the slip coating to the interior surfaces of the tank is introduced into the tank to be applied thereto with the tank being rotated, and the excess slip which has not been applied to the surfaces is forcedly drained from the tank at a rate higher than the rate at which the slip moves relative to the enameled surfaces and which moving rate is determined by the liquid level of the slip within the tank and the size of a discharge port, so that an enamel coating of a desired thickness can be formed on the interior surfaces of the tank. In order to forcedly drain the excess slip from the tank, pneumatic pressure is supplied to the interior of the tank prior to slip application.
