  • Patent number: 4314357
Abstract: A form combining and recording device wherein form data and print data are combined in a single frame memory. A separate frame designation memory is provided for determining whether the contents of a particular location in the frame memory are print or form data. Form data is given priority for the read-in operation. For the recording of information from the frame memory, characters are written with one character font type for print data and a different font type for form data so that the two may be readily distinguished.

  • Patent number: 4291305
Abstract: In an image recording or displaying system using a light beam scanning means, format lines are generated in combination with character data to be recorded or displayed together therewith. A format line data memory memorizes the format line data and the output format line data read out therefrom are combined with the character data. The format line data memory is provided with a horizontal pattern memory and a vertical pattern memory. The horizontal pattern memory memorizes various horizontal patterns in the direction parallel to the scanning line of the light beam scanning means. The vertical pattern memory memorizes the kind of the horizontal pattern according to the position of the scanning line. The vertical pattern memory generates the horizontal pattern code according to the scanning line signal and the horizontal pattern memory generates the selected horizontal pattern for every scanning line.

  • Patent number: 3947844
Abstract: A character board carrying a number of characters is placed in face-to-face relationship with a light source matrix comprising light sources of the same number as that of the characters so that one character may be illuminated by one light source. Each character is divided into a predetermined number of sections or dots. A photodetector matrix comprising photodetectors of the same number as that of the sections into which the character is divided is provided in connection with the character board. Optical fibers of the same number as that of the sections are provided for each character to transmit the light passing through the character to the photodetectors of the photodetector matrix. The corresponding sections of the respective characters are connected with the same photodetector by means of optical fibers so that every photodetector may receive signals from the sections in the same position of the different characters.
