  • Patent number: 8743767
Abstract: Provided are a method of obtaining service information to receive a broadcasting service in a user equipment (UE), and service information announcement methods performable in a service center in charge of multimedia broadcast/multicast service (MBMS) control and a server interoperable with the service center. The method of obtaining MBMS information in a UE includes checking whether or not a previously defined event occurs in order to obtain service information, requesting an external server announcing service information to transmit service information according to whether or not the event occurs, and receiving service information transmitted in response to the service information transmission request and outputting the service information through a user interface (UI).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 16, 2009
Date of Patent: June 3, 2014
Assignee: Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute
    Inventors: Eun-hee Hyun, Ho-choong Cho, Jae-ho Kim, Sang-ho Lee
  • Patent number: 8705475
Abstract: Disclosed is an efficient scheduling apparatus and method for multi-cell transmission in evolved node bases (eNBs). An eNB scheduling for a multi-cell transmission service may allocate wireless resources based on a priority level, a minimum guaranteed bit rate, and a maximum bit rate. That is, a subframe may be efficiently used by minimizing the number of subframes allocated to a single session while satisfying a quality of service (QoS).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 15, 2011
Date of Patent: April 22, 2014
Assignee: Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute
Inventors: Jung Mo Moon, Ho Choong Cho, Sang Ho Lee
  • Patent number: 8650592
Abstract: Provided is a method and apparatus for reducing zapping delay, which may transmit base layer data for each burst in a time-slicing scheme, and output the base layer data of a channel to be changed at the time of changing the channel, thereby reducing the zapping delay.

  • Publication number: 20100142430
Abstract: A multimedia data service apparatus of a mobile communication system for supporting multicast and multicast service activation and deactivation methods for a multimedia data service used by the mobile communication system are provided. Information for mobility management is searched for according to a multimedia data service join request from a packet data network gateway of the mobile communication system, and multimedia data is multicasted to a user equipment. Accordingly, a multicast service can be provided in a system of 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Release 7 or later.
