    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a serum exosomal SF3B4 marker composition for diagnosing early stage hepatocellular carcinoma for noninvasive in vitro diagnosis, wherein, by analyzing an expression level of SF3B4 in plasma proteins as well as expression of SF3B4 in exosomes present in sera of hepatocellular carcinoma patients, the possibility as the most suitable liquid biopsy marker was identified, and a new noninvasive biomarker with high diagnostic accuracy in early stage hepatocellular carcinoma for which no reliable biomarker exists at this present was discovered. As such, by using exosomes to identify cancer cell genomes and proteomes without biopsy, the exosomes are highly applicable in the future as a diagnostic biomarker that is useful in a disease group with a high risk in the biopsy such as hepatocellular carcinoma.

    Abstract: A method of diagnosing systemic lupus erythematosus using an antigen protein that binds specifically to an SMYD3 autoantibody present in body fluid of a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus. The diagnostic method uses a non-invasive biological sample such as blood, and thus may diagnose systemic lupus erythematosus very conveniently without burdening the patient, unlike conventional methods. In addition, the method has high specificity and sensitivity, and thus may be effectively used for early diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus.

    Abstract: A peptide binding to transcription factor CP2c, having an activity of preventing and treating cancer and represented by SEQ ID NO: 1: Asn-Tyr-Pro-Gln-Arg-Pro, and a pharmaceutical composition and a dietary supplement composition for preventing and treating cancer, both of which contain the same as an active ingredient are disclosed. When cancer cells are treated with the peptide and the pharmaceutical composition containing the same, the peptide can specifically bind to CP2c by passing, with very high stability, through the cell membrane and can inhibit the DNA binding ability of CP2c, thereby disturbing CP2c-mediated cancer cell-specific transcriptional activity through the inhibition of CP2c activity. Thus, the peptide and pharmaceutical composition containing the same can be effectively used for specifically treating only cancer cells and can be utilized for cancer prevention and as a dietary supplement additive therefor.

    Abstract: Research into neuroprotective mechanisms has at its heart the goal of developing new therapeutic strategies to treat patients. For example, the compositions and induction strategies disclosed herein have use for acute injuries such as stroke or trauma, and would be extremely useful in treating patients undergoing cardiac bypass surgery, neurosurgery or other surgical cohorts where ischemia is a risk. Further, patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage, transient ischemic attacks, soldiers at risk for blast injury or patients suffering from chronic neurodegenerative diseases would also benefit from enhanced neuronal survival based upon the techniques and compositions disclosed herein. In addition, protecting against cell death by, for example, interfering with PAR polymer signaling via the compositions and processes disclosed herein, offers new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of neurologic disorders.
