The thread ribs on the lid and the lower section extend over a circumferential angle of 90 degrees or less. A clearance at least equal to the circumferential extension thereof is left in the circumferential direction on the lid and the lower section. At least two thread ribs on the lid and the lower section overlap each other. A complete overrun circumferentially is possible in only one of the two opposing positions when an opposing position of a thread rib in the lower section or the lid is reached during a screwed connection in the direction of the screwing axis of rotation.

At least a part of the dispenser head with the mouth opening is extendable and retractable with respect to a surrounding housing wall. A surface that comes in contact with the mouth opening or with an end face region of a protruding wall formed so as to surround the mouth opening encloses an acute angle with a vertical in a cross-section in which the surface appears as a line, and, in the retracted state, this region is in contact with an identically-formed support surface on the housing wall which faces the mouth opening or the end face region.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a sharpening device for sharpening a wear edge of a rubber, plastic or polyurethane blade, such as a synthetic squeegee blade used in silk screening printing, comprising a housing with a base and an upper surface having a longitudinal clamp for clamping the blade during the sharpening operation. The sharpening device further comprises a cutting blade or knife which is removably held by a moveable carriage, both of which are located within a housing. The carriage is mounted on a block assembly and, preferably, carries a removable cutter holder. In operation, the carriage travels along the path of the wear edge of the squence blade, and the cutting blade or knife acts to cut off the wear edge of the blade and simultaniously treate a new edge. The cutting blade is mounted in an inclined position, with respect to the horizontal length of the wear edge, so that the upper beveled surface of the cutting blade is substantially parallel to the horizontal plane of the wear edge.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a semi-rigid sweeper cover for use in mechanical street sweepers and, in particular, to a polymeric cover for rotary sweepers. The semi-rigid sweeper cover is effective to inter-act with and assist a sweeper brush in lifting and guiding swept materials to a storage area. The sweeper cover has an inner surface which conforms to the shape of the sweeper brush when in motion and is comprised of a polymer selected from the group consisting of rubber, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, polypropylene, polyurethane, nylon and acrylic with embedded fibers. The use of such polymers greatly extends the useful life of the sweeper cover. The polymeric cover described by the present invention may be used as an inner protective liner for an exterior metal cover. Alternatively, the polymeric cover of this invention may be used, by itself, as a sweeper cover.

Abstract: A biological testing device comprising a container and plug is disclosed. The container in combination with the plug makes it possible to test a bacterial suspension with a number of different reagents simultaneously. The container which is open at one end has a plurality of microtubes arranged around its lower inside periphery. The plug which fits within the opening of the container distributes the bacterial suspension in substantially equal amounts to each of the microtubes having different testing reagents. A compression compensator adapted for use with the biological testing device is also disclosed. The compensator comprises a chamber which is in communication with the interior of the container when the plug is in place therein. The chamber contains a disc therein which can move in the manner of a piston to increase the volume of the chamber and thereby receive any gas or vapor vented from the testing device during use.
