  • Patent number: 4699424
Abstract: In order to achieve with an adjustable back support a further comfort increase, supports consisting of individual air chambers are accommodated in the backrest of a motor vehicle seat stacked flake-shaped one above the other. The approximately horizontally directed boundary edges of the air chambers are constructed wave-shaped so that wave troughs and coordinated wave peaks of two adjoining air chambers overlap owing to the stacking.

  • Patent number: 4652768
Abstract: This invention relates to a locking mechanism for the locks of the rear doors of a motor vehicle with one locking device for each door lock acting against the unauthorized opening of the doors from the interior side of the doors, a so called child safety lock. Each locking device is assigned an electric-motor-driven control unit, the rotational direction of said control unit being reversible via a double pole changing switch (double throw switch) and said control unit being connected with it and being able to be remotely operated with respect to locking or unlocking of the lock by a switching element that can be operated from the front seats. The locking condition of the locking device is indicated by an optical display. To reduce manufacturing parts and expenses for the circuit controlling the optical display, this circuit is formed by parts of the circuit controlling the locking devices themselves.

  • Patent number: 4509707
Abstract: A self-locking belt reeling device for, in particular, motor vehicle safety belts is provided and includes a housing and a belt rewinding shaft, the latter being mounted in the former in a manner preventing axial movement but allowing radial movement under the action of locking-forces, with the ends of the shaft extending through apertures in the housing and being respectively provided with a disc, preferably a toothed disc, in the plane of each of the apertures, at least one of these discs, when locking-forces occur, engaging in a fixed internal toothing of one aperture. The second aperture has a recess for a latch which is mounted therein, this latch being capable of being pivoted into the cross-section of the aperture and into the toothing of the toothed disc associated with this aperture. An actuating element is located on the latch, this element being controlled by the self-locking device.

  • Patent number: 4424509
Abstract: A sensor arrangement which is adapted to be triggered by deceleration forces. The sensor arrangement forms a component of a vehicle safety belt system and includes a mass deflectable from an initial position to a deflected position upon exceeding a predetermined deceleration and an indicator which responds if the belt of the safety belt system has been deployed during the occurrence of the predetermined deceleration. The mass is associated with the indicator and has such a mounting and/or includes a track of such an ascending slope, that the full deflection of the mass is attained only beginning at a deceleration of about 2 g. An arrangement is provided for preventing the deflected mass from returning to the initial position.

  • Patent number: 4358878
Abstract: A plug-fastener for safety belts in motor vehicles, which comprises a tongue-like plug part and a receiving part for receiving and retaining the tongue-like plug part. The plug part is provided with at least one recess, undercut, or a shoulder. The receiving part comprises at least one locking member which engages the recess, undercut or shoulder of the plug part, and, after the plug part has been received by the receiving part, is operable to retain these parts until the parts are separated deliberately. In the receiving part in the path of movement of the plug part there is movably arranged a holding member one end or extension of which is adapted to engage the locking member in its unlocked position and to prevent the latter from moving into its locking position until the plug part has contacted the holding member and has moved it out of engagement with the locking member.

  • Patent number: 4253621
Abstract: A vehicle-inertia-sensitive blocking device for automatic belt reeling mechanisms for motor vehicle safety belts. The device has an inertia sensor and a thereby pivoted pawl, which is pivotally mounted on a carrier and has a stop for engaging a counterpart or cogwheel having corresponding toothing. The pawl or the carrier has indentation or notch means that form a rated breaking point, and optionally, the pawl has a further stop in the region of the rated breaking point on the remaining portion of the pawl. Mechanism is provided for holding one of the stops remaining on the pawl in blocking engagement with the cogwheel.
