    Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide methods and systems for adaptively controlling uplink communications parameters of a receiving station by an access point. In some embodiments, the uplink power and/or uplink rate of a receiving station is controlled by the access point based on uplink RSSI and/or SNR measurements of uplink packets sent by the receiving station to the access point. For example, the access point may adjust a target RSSI value based on the uplink RSSI and/or SNR measurements of uplink packets in the allocated resource unit. The adjusted target RSSI value is sent to the receiving station in a trigger frame from the access point and the receiving station may then set the uplink transmission power based on the target RSSI value.

The other apparatus provides scheduled resources for transmission between the two apparatuses. The client station transmits the MPDU to an access point of the WLAN for a subsequent allocation by the access point of wireless bandwidth for the MU transmission.

Each OFDM symbol of the second plurality of OFDM symbols is generated with a second OFDM tone spacing that is a fraction 1/N of the first OFDM tone spacing, where N is a positive integer greater than one. The communication device generates a PHY data portion of the PHY data unit to include one or more third OFDM symbols. Each third OFDM symbol is generated with the second OFDM tone spacing.

The wireless transmitter obtains plurality of data symbols to transmit, and performs data padding for the plurality of data symbols based on a non-STBC manner. The wireless transmitter further calculates a number of bits per data symbol after the data padding and pre-codes a data symbol from the plurality of data symbols based on available channel information when the number of data symbols is an odd number. The wireless transmitter generates an STBC based on the pre-coded data symbols, and transmits the generated STBC to the MIMO channel.

    Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a method for cross-channel scheduling of high efficiency (HE) multi-user (MU) frame transmission. In some embodiments, channel information and client station information may be obtained for data transmission. An MU frame containing a data field of a first type and two data fields of a second type may be configured to carry scheduling information relating to one or more channels for the data transmission. It may be determined that a current scheduling setting of the two data fields of the second type leads to unbalanced payload between the one or more channels. The two data fields of the second type may then be adjusted for a balanced channel mapping, and the data field of the first type may be adjusted to reflect the balanced channel mapping. Data based on the adjusted data field of the first type and the adjusted two data fields of the second type may be transmitted via the one or more channels.

    Abstract: A communication device receives a physical layer (PHY) data unit that includes i) a first orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol corresponding to a legacy signal field of a PHY preamble, and ii) a second OFDM symbol that immediately follows the first OFDM symbol. The communication device determines a first bit sequence corresponding to the first OFDM symbol and a second bit sequence corresponding to the second OFDM symbol. The communication device unscrambles the second bit sequence to obtain an unscrambled second bit sequence, and determines whether the unscrambled second bit sequence matches the first bit sequence. If the unscrambled second bit sequence matches the first bit sequence, the communication device decodes the PHY data unit according to a first communication protocol, and if the unscrambled second bit sequence does not match the first bit sequence, decodes the PHY data unit according to a second communication protocol.

    Abstract: Embodiments described herein methods and systems for channel correlation based user detection in an uplink multiuser transmission of a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMIO) network. In some embodiments, the channel correlation based user detection may be used in 802.11 UL MUMIMO systems. For example, an access point may detect whether a client station responds to a trigger frame and then adjust a channel matrix accordingly to reflect whether the client station is responsive. The access point may then decode received data signals based on the adjusted channel matrix that reflects whether a client station has transmitted.

One or more padding bits are added to the encoder input stream to generate a padded encoder input bit stream, the one or more padding bits to ensure an integer number of puncturing blocks in an encoded output bit stream. The padded encoder input bit stream is encoded to generate the encoded output bit stream. The field is generated to include at least some bits from the encoded output bit stream.

    Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a method for resource unit signaling with reduced data bits in a wireless local area network. At a wireless transceiver, a data frame may be obtained for transmission. The data frame includes a first preamble portion and a second preamble portion compliant with a wireless local area network communication protocol. When an available resource unit for transmitting the data frame is less than an allowed bandwidth, the first preamble portion and the second preamble portion may be configured with resource unit signaling bits. When the available resource unit is greater than or equal to the allowed bandwidth, the resource unit may be virtually divided into a plurality of channels. At least one of the first preamble portion and the second preamble portion may be configured with a first number of bits representing a number of users spatially multiplexed on a channel from the plurality of channels.

The communication device transmits one or more packets that each include i) an indication that the first BSS color identifier is changing, ii) the second value of the first BSS color identifier, and iii) a respective integer number of remaining beacon intervals corresponding to a start time when the second value of the first BSS color identifier will supersede the first value of the first BSS color identifier. Based on the start time, the communication device begins to use the second value of the first BSS color identifier with communications in the first wireless network.

An intra-BSS channel access counter is set based on the duration of time indicated by the duration indicator if the second BSS is the same as the first BSS.

    Abstract: The present disclosure describes apparatuses and methods of interference cancellation for receivers with multiple antennas. In some aspects, an interference packet transmitted by an interfering device of a wireless environment is received via multiple antennas of a device. Based on the interference packet, an interference channel that describes interference in the wireless environment is estimated. The device then receives an intended packet through the wireless environment in which the interfering device is operating. At least a portion of interference received with the intended packet, such as interference caused by other interfering packets, is cancelled using the interference channel. By so doing, a receiver may reduce effects of interfering packets or signals of the wireless environment to improve receive performance (e.g., bit-error rate) for packets that are intended for reception by the device.
