    Abstract: The present disclosure describes apparatuses and methods for interference cancellation in multi-antenna receivers. In some aspects, a packet transmitted through a wireless environment is received via multiple antennas of a receiver, the packet being affected by interference of the wireless environment. The receiver multiplies signals of the packet with an interference cancellation matrix to provide reduced-interference signals of the packet from which a first portion of the interference is removed. Based on a first set of the reduced-interference signals of the packet, the receiver provides a reduced-interference channel estimate. A second portion of the interference is then removed from a second set of the reduced-interference signals using the reduced interference channel estimate. By so doing, the receiver may reduce effects of interference of the wireless environment (e.g., interfering packets or signals) to improve receive performance (e.g.

    Abstract: A first communication device receives an aggregate medium access control data unit (MAC) protocol data unit (A-MPDU) that aggregates multiple MAC protocol data units from a second communication device. The first communication device generates an acknowledgment data unit that includes a length indication that indicates a length of an acknowledgement field and the acknowledgment field of the indicated length. The length of the acknowledgement field is selected from a subset of predetermined lengths, among a set predetermined lengths, that includes multiple predetermined lengths that do not exceed a maximum number of MAC protocol data units that can be included in the A-MPDU. The maximum number of MAC protocol data units is limited by a buffer size negotiated in an acknowledgement setup procedure previously conducted between the first communication device and the second communication device. The first communication device transmits the acknowledgment data unit to the second communication device.

    Abstract: A first communication device generates a block acknowledgement (BA) frame that includes (i) acknowledgement information to indicate, to a second communication device, whether the first communication device successfully received multiple media access control (MAC) frames transmitted by the second communication device, and (ii) an indication of a change in a BA session between the first communication device and the second communication device. The first communication device transmits the BA frame to the second communication device, where the BA frame causes the second communication device to adopt the change in the BA session in response to receiving the BA frame.

Or, the first field is generated to include a set of bits that according to an error detection scheme that does not conform to a second format; or the set of information bits indicates a mode not supported in connection with the second format. An L-SIG field is generated that includes a set of data and pilot tones, wherein the pilot tones are inserted between the data tones in the set of data and pilot tones. A plurality of training tones is added to the L-SIG field before and after the set of data and pilot tones. A symbol is generated that includes the L-SIG field, an L-LTF field, and a data field, wherein the training tones of the L-SIG field provide channel estimates for the data field. Power of the L-LTF field is managed relative to power of the L-SIG field in the generated symbol in a time domain.

    Abstract: A first communication device generates a physical layer (PHY) preamble of a PHY data unit. A signal field of the PHY preamble includes i) a common block of information bits having information for multiple second communication devices and ii) a plurality of user blocks of information bits, each user block having information for a respective one of the multiple second communication devices. The common block includes a frequency resource unit allocation field that defines a plurality of frequency resource units corresponding to a PHY payload of the PHY data unit. The user blocks respectively correspond to frequency resource units defined by the frequency resource unit allocation field. Each user block includes an indication of a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) used in the corresponding frequency resource unit. Each group of two user blocks is encoded as a respective second encoded block to allow the multiple second communication devices to efficiently decode the signal field.

The first communication device generates the first packet to include information to indicate to a third communication device, that is an intended receiver of the first packet, to not transmit an acknowledgment of the first packet according to a normal acknowledgment procedure during the spatial reuse opportunity.
