    Abstract: An apparatus for mounting a conductor terminal including an insulated housing and a bus bar on a support rail is characterized by a solid metal contact base connected with the bus bar and adapted for electrically and mechanically connecting the bus bar with the rail. The base includes a pair of integral hook portions for clamping with the edges of the rail and at least one intermediate resilient prong extending longitudinally from the base. When the hook portions are clamped onto the rail edges, the prong is biased against the rail to retain the connector in position on the rail.

    Abstract: In a dual disconnect terminal assembly including a switch, the disconnect contact member for opening and closing the current paths formed by bus bar segments in the upper and lower terminal tiers is a toggle lever which includes contact bridges for each respective tier. The lever can be pivoted into three different switch positions. In a first position, the upper and lower contact bridges are connected with the bus bar segments of the upper and lower tiers, respectively, to close the current paths therebetween. In a second position, the upper and lower contact bridges are spaced from the bus bar segments of the upper and lower tiers, respectively, to open the current paths therebetween. In a third position, the upper contact bridges are connected with extensions of the bus bar segments of the upper tier to close the current path thereof and the lower contact bridges are spaced from the bus bar segments of the lower tier to open the current path thereof.

    Abstract: A pass-through terminal arrangement to be mounted on and extended through a mounting opening of a wall of a casing in a mounted position thereof includes a plurality of terminals each of which includes a terminal housing and a current bar having a projecting portion which extends out of the terminal housing and, in the mounted position, through the mounting opening into the interior of the casing. A sealing component is mounted on and surrounds a section of the projecting portion of each of the current bars. The terminal housings are connected in a row to a flange frame of a mounting flange which further includes a pass-through block rigid with the flange frame, at least partially received in the mounting opening in the mounted position, and having a plurality of pass-through openings each for sealingly accommodating at least the section of one of the current bars and the sealing component mounted thereon.

    Abstract: A component housing for electrical and electronic circuits and components includes a frame constituting respective narrow sides of the housing at least one of which has a plurality of openings having different configurations in conformity with various connecting techniques to be used. Two lateral covering plates are arrestingly connected to the frame. A contact protection housing portion of an electrically insulating material extends over at least a partial region of the one narrow side of the frame and bounds a receiving space at the region of the one narrow side of the frame, especially for contact protected accommodation of lug-shaped connectors which extend upwardly beyond the one narrow side of the component housing. The contact protection housing portion has apertures that give access to those of the openings which are provided in the region of the one narrow side of the frame and is held in position by the lateral covering plates.

    Abstract: A connector for clamping one or more electrical conductors has a shackle which cooperates with a screw serving to urge one end portion of a rail toward a bottom wall of the shackle. The bottom wall has a central portion flanked by two convergent lateral portions which guide one or more conductors against the internal surface of the central portion when the screw causes the end portion of the rail to approach the bottom wall. The underside of the end portion of the rail has a centrally located platform whose underside urges the conductor or conductors against the central portion of the bottom wall and which is assisted by two ridges disposed between pairs of recesses in the end portion of the rail. The lateral portions of the bottom wall have notches which receive portions of the platform, and the recesses receive portions of the corresponding lateral wall portions.

    Abstract: A cross connection link which can establish several electrical connections between an elongated strip-shaped conductor and one or more bus bars in the recess of a terminal block has a series of neighboring L-shaped or U-shaped metallic distancing elements each of which has a leg connected with an edge portion of the strip-shaped conductor by a weakened joint so that it can be readily broken off the strip-shaped conductor, and a web which is integral with the other end portion of the leg and has an aperture for the shank of a screw serving to connect the web with a bus bar. The heads of the screws are adjacent to those sides of the webs which face the strip-shaped conductor, and such heads are confined against movement away from the regions of the respective webs so that they are always ready for engagement by the working end of a tool which is used to move the shanks of selected screws or all screws into mesh with tapped holes in the bus bar or bars.

    Abstract: This invention relates to an improved process for the production of high molecular weight polyurethanes which are free from isocyanate groups and are soluble in organic solvent in reduced reaction times. The reactants, polyol and isocyanate, for example, are mixed together with solvent and the temperature is permitted to rise under the effect of the heat of reaction. The reaction mixture is then cooled with solvent addition in such a way that the viscosity of the reaction mixture remains constant until the optimum temperature for the polyurethane formation reaction ("specific reaction temperature") is reached. The mixture is then gradually cooled until there is no residual isocyanate present and the polymer is recovered from the reaction mixture.

    Abstract: A process is provided for the production of synthetic polyurethane plastics, particularly foam plastics, containing biuret groups by reacting polyisocyanates, polyhydroxyl and/or polycarboxyl compounds, flame inhibitors and, if desired, blowing agents, emulsifiers, activators and other additives which is characterized by using as the polyisocyanate solutions in monomeric polyisocyanates of from about 1 per cent to 85 per cent of polyisocyanates containing biuret groups and having the formula: ##EQU1## in which R is an aromatic, araliphatic or cycloaliphatic radical which may, if desired, be substituted andn is an integer from 0 to 5, wherein the proportion of biuret-polyisocyanates having more than three isocyanate groups is at least 20 per cent by weight based on the total quantity of biuret-polyisocyanates, and the solutions contain from about 0.03 per cent to about 5 per cent by weight of chemically combined emulsifiers.
