    Abstract: The present disclosure describes systems and techniques relating to wireless communications. A described system includes a first radio configured to wirelessly transmit to a first station in accordance with a first wireless communication technology via uplink periods that are scheduled by the first station; a second radio configured to wirelessly communicate with a second station in accordance with a second wireless communication technology; and a controller coupled with the first and second radios, the controller being configured to select for puncturing one or more of the uplink periods based on information about types of data to be transmitted respectively in the uplink periods, puncture, independently of the first station, the one or more selected uplink periods by causing the first radio to terminate transmissions to the first station during the selected uplink period(s), and cause the second radio to receive data from the second station during the selected uplink period(s).

The communication device generates the packet for transmission, wherein i) all data modulated on the first set of adjacent OFDM subcarriers is modulated and encoded using the first pair, and ii) all data modulated on the second set of adjacent OFDM subcarriers is modulated and encoded using the second pair.

    Abstract: An access point generates and transmits, to first client stations and a second client station, a downlink multi-user (MU) physical layer (PHY) data unit having respective media access control (MAC) data units for i) the first client stations and ii) the second client station. The downlink MU PHY data unit includes an indication that the first client stations are to acknowledge the downlink MU PHY data unit in an uplink MU PHY data unit, and indicates that the second client station is to acknowledge the downlink MU PHY data unit in another uplink PHY data unit separate from the uplink MU PHY data unit. The access point receives, from the multiple first client stations, the uplink MU PHY data unit, and polls the second client station to prompt the second client station to acknowledge, in another uplink PHY data unit, that the second client station received the downlink MU PHY data unit.

    Abstract: A channel access timer at a communication device is set to a duration for which a shared communication medium is expected to be busy in a basic service set (BSS) heard by the communication device. The channel access timer is counted down. Before the channel access timer reaches zero, respective indications of respective contention free period durations in multiple basic service sets (BSSs) heard by the communication device are recorded in a BSS record maintained by the communication device. Recording the respective indications includes recording, for each particular BSS of the multiple BSSs, (i) an identifier of the particular BSS and (ii) an offset value corresponding to an offset of an end of a contention free period in the particular BSS from an end of a contention free period in the BSS based on which the channel access timer is currently set at the communication device.

    Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a method for providing a physical-layer control mechanism in accordance with a wireless local area network communication protocol allowing a high data rate. At a wireless receiver, a physical-layer data frame may be received compliant with the wireless local area network communication protocol. When the physical-layer data frame includes only one data unit, a length of an enhanced directional multi-gigabit header from a header associated with the physical-layer data frame may be obtained, and the enhanced directional multi-gigabit header from the physical-layer data frame may be enhanced based on the length. When the physical-layer data frame includes more than one data unit, a first length of a first data unit may be obtained from a first header associated with the first data unit, and the first data unit may be identified from the data frame based on the first length.

A described technique includes transmitting a sounding packet to wireless communication devices; receiving, in response to the sounding packet, feedback packets from the wireless communication devices, wherein the feedback packets collectively comprise beamforming feedback, the beamforming feedback being derived from received versions of the sounding packet; determining a steering matrix based on the beamforming feedback; and transmitting, within a frame, spatially steered data packets to the wireless communications devices. The spatially steered data packets can be based on the steering matrix and data streams intended respectively for the wireless communication devices. The spatially steered data packets can concurrently provide the data streams respectively within the frame to the wireless communication devices via different spatial wireless channels.

Each sounding feedback packet in the plurality of sounding feedback packets includes a respective indication of OFDM subcarriers for which the sounding feedback packet includes SNR information, and at least one sounding feedback packet from among the plurality of sounding feedback packets does not include SNR information for all OFDM subcarriers via which the NDP was transmitted.

    Abstract: An LED lamp includes a metal lead frame strip (14) on which is directly mounted bare LED dies (12), such as in series. Therefore, there is excellent thermal conductivity to the lead frame (14). Lenses (24) are then molded over the LED dies (12) to encapsulate them. The lead frame (14) is then inserted into a mold for a thermally conductive plastic body (38) and is bent in an arc while in the mold so that the top surfaces of the LED dies (12) are not parallel to each other. The plastic body is molded, and the structure is removed from the mold. The curved lead frame causes the overall light emission to be very wide, such a greater than 270 degrees. In another embodiment, the lead frame strip is supported over a curved outer surface of a pre-molded plastic support. Ends of the lead frame strip are inserted into electrical connectors of the plastic support.

The RFID readers are configured to respectively read the identification codes of the medical items from the RFID tags through the antennas before and after a surgical operation and send the identification codes to the processing unit. The processing unit is configured to receive the identification codes and determine the completeness of the medical items based on the received identification codes. A method for checking medical items with the RFID system is also provided.

Respective spatial stream allocations are selected, for at least some of the blocks, that indicate a number of spatial streams for the corresponding block of the data unit. The number of streams of a block is equal to a number of communication devices of the device set that corresponds to the block. A first field is encoded and transmitted to indicate the selected block allocation and the selected spatial stream allocations. A second field is encoded and transmitted to indicate a respective device identifier for each communication device of the respective device sets.
