The backlight unit includes a printed circuit board formed thereon with a plurality of LEDs and a light guide member having receiving holes to receive the LEDs. At least one round part having a predetermined curvature is formed at an edge defined in an intersection between an upper surface and an inner surface of the receiving hole. Since the round part is formed at the edge in the receiving hole receiving the LED at the portion of the light guide member, the light distribution is improved so that the light efficiency is increased.

    Abstract: A light unit is provided. The light unit includes a PCB mounted with a plurality of LEDs, and a light guide member having a plurality of reception grooves piercing therethrough and receiving the LEDs, wherein the light guide member includes one surface and the other surface opposite to the one surface, and the one surface of the light guide member is further coated with the resin material. The reception grooves are formed in the light guide member and are filled with a fluid resin material, thus preventing the damage to the LED caused by the difference between the thermal expansion rates of the components such as the light guide member, the reflection film and the PCB.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a filter bank approach to adaptive filtering method using independent component analysis. More particularly, the invention relates to a method of improving the performance of adaptive filtering method by applying independent component analysis that is capable of reflecting the secondary or even higher order statistical characteristics to adaptive filtering algorithm using the filter bank approach. In order to implement the conventional adaptive filter algorithm using independent component analysis to the real world problem, a large number of filter training coefficients are required and also a large amount of calculation is required when a training is undertaken. This results in a very slow learning speed and the deterioration in the quality of result signals.

    Abstract: The present invention considers a method for active cancellation using independent component analysis. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method which is operable the independent component analysis technique to an adaptive algorithm that can consider secondary or more higher statistical characteristics. The conventional active noise cancellation systems mainly use the LMS(Least Mean Square) which considers secondary statistics among input signals. Being different from the conventional active noise cancellation systems, the present invention provides a method for active noise cancellation using independent component analysis, which makes output signals independent of each other by considering secondary or more higher statistical characteristics. Therefore, according to the present invention, the improved performances of the noise cancellation systems can be provided compared with the conventional active noise cancellation system which uses the LMS adaptive algorithm.
