  • Patent number: 4316369
Abstract: A circular warp knitting machine is designed for knitting hosiery pieces and comprises a stationary needle cylinder, knitting needles which are installed in grooves of two concentrically arranged annular guide bars, racking mechanisms for racking the guide bars together with the guide needles along the front of the knitting needles and rocking mechanisms for rocking the guide needles between the knitting needles. The needle cylinder accomodates a sleeve movable therealong which controls the movement of the sinkers. A holder movable along the needle cylinder is arranged inside the needle cylinder and carries the knitting needles mounted therein, and sliding frames of the rocking mechanisms of the guide needles and concentrically arranged rotatable casings carrying the annular guide bars are installed over the needle cylinder coaxially therewith. This arrangement ensures a simple and compact structure of the machine.

  • Patent number: 4292820
Abstract: The method includes guiding two systems of warp threads to the knitting needles by two systems of thread guides, and moving the latter to knit the main loop courses and additional loop courses which are made between the main loop courses and which are shorter than the latter, with the two systems of the thread guides being moved during the knitting of the additional loop courses along the front presented by the knitting needles, behind the backs thereof and, through steps which are longer than the steps through which these thread guides are moved during the knitting of the main loop courses. The apparatus of the invention comprises a circular warp-knitting machine having knitting members, a mechanism for actuating the annular thread guide bars along the front presented by the knitting needles, and a mechanism for positive feeding of the warp threads of each system.

  • Patent number: 4270368
Abstract: The method for knitting stockings comprises laying two systems of warp threads on knitting needles by means of two sets of guide needles and knitting a continuous hose which consists of a plurality of serially arranged stockings. Each stocking is made by knitting, in a sequence, with one-bar tricot stitch from one system of warp threads, an overturned welt 6 of the stocking and with two-bar tricot stitch from the two systems of warp threads, a leg, a heel portion, a sole portion and pull courses. After knitting the pull courses of the stocking, a garterband portion is knit with the loop length which is at least equal to the loop length of a cylindrical portion of the leg.
