  • Patent number: 10717412
Abstract: A message is received that a mobile device is in proximity to a vehicle. For example, a cloud system may receive a message that the mobile device is in proximity to the car of a specific person. Based on the mobile device being in proximity to the vehicle, sensor information is received from one or more sensors on the vehicle. For example, an array of cameras on the vehicle may be used to detect a gesture. The received information from the one or more sensors on the vehicle is processed to identify one or more actions to implement on the vehicle. One or more commands are then sent to implement one or more actions on the vehicle. For example, the one or more commands may be to open a specific door on the vehicle and to turn on a specific heating system in the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20200070777
Abstract: Systems of an electrical vehicle and the operations thereof are provided. A method for controlling access to a vehicle includes a processor of a vehicle control system determining a signal strength for sensors of a vehicle. The processor determines a location of a user device based on the determined signal strength for the sensors. The processor enables a gesture recognition system based on the determination of the location of the user device. The processor receives data from the user device, determines a type of gesture associated with the received data from the user device, and activates one or more functions of the vehicle based on the determined type of gesture.

  • Patent number: 10369966
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to employing various methods and devices to access a vehicle and controlling a level of access granted based on the device and methods employed. Controlling access to a vehicle can comprise maintaining a plurality of security profiles, each security profile associated with a different access device or type of access device. When the presence of an access device in proximity to the vehicle or a request to access the vehicle is detected, a security profile associated with the detected access device or the request to access the vehicle can be retrieved and used to determine whether to grant access to the vehicle. In response to determining to grant access to the vehicle, access to the vehicle can be provided according to an access level for the detected access device or the request to access the vehicle identified in the retrieved security profile.
