  • Patent number: 4482965
Abstract: There is disclosed a new and useful taximeter which allows simple changes in tariff display conditions in various operating modes without any change or modification in circuit construction. The taximeter using a memory device removable from the taximeter body and containing lamp enabling and disabling information is capable of optionally setting tariff display conditions in respective ones of operating modes without reconstructing the circuit arrangement of the taximeter body.

  • Patent number: 4363523
Abstract: An electronic anti-skid controller system employing a plurality of anti-skid controllers is adapted to develop state signals representative of the operational states of the individual anti-skid controllers in the form of binary signals "1" and "0". When specific combinations of the controller state signals occur indicating a tendency of the vehicle to encounter a dangerous condition, the individual controllers are respectively activated or disabled in accordance with the nature of the instantaneous combination of the state signals in order to ensure safety of the vehicle. To this end, a central control unit is provided to be responsive to the specific combination of the binary state signals.

  • Patent number: 4316081
Abstract: An electronic digital tape measure includes a flexible tape, a detector, and a digital display. A keyboard unit and a control circuit may be further included for acting as an electronic calculator. The flexible tape is constructed by allocating a number of magnetic balls a predetermined space from each other and by locating a number of non-magnetic balls to provide the space therebetween. The chain of the balls is covered by flexible synthetic resin or the like. While the flexible tape has no special structure, a holding member is provided within the detector for grasping the flexible tape to be driven in unison with the movement of the flexible tape.

  • Patent number: 4185390
Abstract: In an electronic tape measure wherein the results of measurements are visually displayed on a display through the use of a counter, there is provided a keyboard unit for introducing a specific quantity into the tape measure. It further includes alarm means for providing an alarm signal when a tape is drawn in an amount to correspond to the specific quantity previously loaded into the counter via the keyboard unit.

  • Patent number: 4181959
Abstract: A plurality of memories are provided for respectively storing a series of distance information measured by extending the length of an extensible tape member which is attached to the length of an object to be measured. The memory is selected through the use of an N-nary counter and a decoder which are activated by both a memory key and a free key. A memory recall key is provided for indicating the distance information contained in the selected one of the memories in a display. An illumination lamp is employed for showing whether the distance information is appropriately stored in the selected memory. A CPU (central processor unit) is provided for controlling the distance information to provide a visual indication corresponding to the distance information in the display.

  • Patent number: 4181960
Abstract: A spring loaded reel is provided for accommodating and storing an extensible tape member which is useful in identifying the length of an object to be measured while being pulled out of an electronic combined digital scale and calculator. A plurality of holes are provided in the body of the spring loaded reel to detect the movement of the extensible tape member. A photo detector is positioned associated with the spring loaded reel to sense the rotation of the spring loaded reel in unison with the extensible tape member and to thereby provide counting signals. The counting signals are manipulated in a processor circuit included within the electronic digital scale and calculator to identify the movement of the extensible tape member.

  • Patent number: 4178691
Abstract: A measuring instrument comprising an extensible member and a determining apparatus is provided within an electronic digital scale, said extensible member including sprocket holes arranged at a predetermined interval and said determining apparatus measuring the movement of the extensible member through the use of a movement recognition device. The movement recognition device includes a detection plate for rotating in unison with the movement of said extensible member. The rotation of the detection plate is sensed to generate a length information which is introduced into a computation circuit, whereby a measured result is displayed in a digital display arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4024384
Abstract: The modification is effective for use in an electronic taximeter through its ability to electrically compensate for variations in distance traveled per a predetermined number of degrees of revolutions of wheels of a vehicle in accordance with different makes and models of the vehicle. In one of the preferred forms wherein the taximeter electronics comprises means for producing only one set of electric pulses corresponding to distance traveled for the purpose of performing tariff calculations, the modification scheme provides respective one of binary-coded compensation signals dependent upon unique distance traveled per a predetermined number of degrees of the wheel revolutions of the vehicle on which the taximeter is installed, during calculation. In another form wherein the electronics comprising two sets of electric pulses corresponding to distance traveled and time of hire, although the distance pulses are subject to distance compensation, the compensation procedure is inhibited on the time pulses.
