  • Publication number: 20220371561
Abstract: A brake system for a motor vehicle has electromechanical wheel brakes, a brake operating unit and a central brake control unit. The wheel brakes each have a local brake control unit. The central brake control unit is connected to the brake operating unit and the local brake control units via a first data connection. The brake operating unit is connected to the local brake control unit of at least one wheel brake via a second data connection. In a normal operating mode the central brake control unit determines at least one brake demand from first operating information, received via the first data connection and transmits control signals corresponding to the brake demand to the local brake control units. In a fallback operating mode the local brake control units actuate the respective wheel brakes basis on second operating information, received via the second data connection.

  • Publication number: 20220297661
Abstract: A method for monitoring the release behavior of an electromechanical wheel brake of a vehicle, the wheel brake having at least one electrically controllable force actuator configured to apply a brake-application force to friction partners of the wheel brake. comprises activating the force actuator in accordance with a defined control pattern which is dependent on a present operating state of the wheel brake, a present operating state of further wheel brakes of the vehicle, and/or a present operating state of the vehicle. The activation of the force actuator is interrupted at a defined point in time. The operating parameters of the wheel brake are monitored for a defined period of time after the interruption of the activation. • Publication number: 20190351886
Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle brake system having hydraulic wheel brakes; an atmospheric pressure pressure medium reservoir; a pressure modulation unit setting wheel-specific brake pressures, an electrohydraulic pressure provision device connected to the pressure modulation unit and the pressure medium reservoir which outputs brake system pressure to the pressure modulation unit and draws in pressure medium from the reservoir; a first and second pressure activation valve connecting the pressure provision device to the pressure modulation device. A piston of the piston-cylinder arrangement separates two pressure spaces from one another. A pressure build-up occurs in the first pressure space during a backward movement of the piston and in the second pressure space during a forward movement of the piston. During a brake pressure build-up by a forward stroke of the piston, the activation valve is opened and the first pressure space is hydraulically separated from the pressure medium reservoir.

  • Patent number: 10017165
Abstract: A method for regulating motor vehicle electrohydraulic brake systems having a pressure supply apparatus actuated by a control unit and hydraulically connected to wheel brakes via a pressure regulating valve. The pressure supply apparatus includes a cylinder-piston assembly operated by an electromechanical actuator. A set point pressure value is determined for each wheel brake. The cylinder-piston assembly is actuated to a predetermined pilot pressure in the hydraulic pressure chamber. A pilot pressure actual value and an actuator speed actual value are obtained. A pilot pressure set point value, the pilot pressure set point value and the pilot pressure actual value are fed as input variables to a regulator which outputs an actuator speed set point value. The actuator speed and actual set point values are fed as inputs to the speed regulator. The actuator speed set point value is modified as a function of the number of brakes.

  • Patent number: 9511752
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a brake system, in particular for motor vehicles, having an electrically controllable pressure supplying device for hydraulically actuating at least one wheel brake. The pressure supplying device includes a cylinder-piston arrangement with a hydraulic pressure chamber. The piston of the cylinder-piston arrangement being movable by an electromechanical actuator in order to generate a specificable target pressure in the hydraulic pressure chamber. An actuator torque and an actuator position of the electromechanical actuator are ascertained, and a pressure value for the pressure in the hydraulic pressure chamber is determined using the actuator toque and the actuator position taking into consideration a pressure model.

  • Patent number: 9415758
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for providing haptic information to the driver of a motor vehicle, equipped with a brake-by-wire brake system, about the operating state of the brake system, in which method the brake pedal characteristic is generated by a pedal travel simulator, in the form of a functional relationship between the brake pedal opposing force and the brake pedal travel, and is modified as a function of an operating state. In order to provide the driver with the haptic information channel via which electronically controlled information can be communicated to the driver during braking, without the impression of a defect arising, the invention proposes that a basic brake pedal characteristic is generated by a passive simulator spring which assigns pedal travel, on which pedal return travel transporting the haptic information is superimposed, to a given pedal force in an unchanging, constant relationship.
