  • Patent number: 4718167
Abstract: An improved method and apparatus are provided for fabricating an electrical harness including a connector and a plurality of conductors. The connector has a plurality of terminals preloaded partially into a housing with a conductor-receiving terminal portion outside of the housing. One or more connectors are manually positioned within a frame of the electrical harness fabricating apparatus. An operational cycle of the electrical harness apparatus begins when a conductor is detected at a predetermined position within a conductor-guide channel. The conductors are sequentially terminated into the terminals outside of the housing and the previously terminated terminals are fully inserted into the housing.

  • Patent number: 4315367
Abstract: A clamp-squeezing apparatus for automatically urging a cable-engaging clamp of an electrical connector into clamping engagement with a cable is provided. The apparatus is particularly adapted for use in conjunction with wire-terminating apparatus. The squeezing apparatus comprises a movable carriage including a slidable plate on which is mounted a connector nest and pivotal squeezing arms having cam followers and squeeze jaws on opposed ends thereof. Upon movement of the carriage and nest into a desired position, the cam followers are urged by cam tracks in which they ride to urge the squeeze jaws together and squeeze the connector cable clamp into engagement with a cable.

  • Patent number: 4237851
Abstract: A ball throwing machine suitable for battery operation is disclosed. Balls are supplied from a helical ball track to a firing track. A ball striker is cocked by a motor against the force of an adjustable spring. When the striker is positioned over-center the striker rapidly rotates striking the ball. A one-way clutch mechanism is included in the gear train between the motor and ball striker so that the kinetic energy remaining after the ball is launched is utilized to begin cocking the striker for the next cycle of operation. This results in significant reduction in the electrical energy required to operate the mechanism. An elevation control permits selective positioning of the firing track relative to the ball striker.

  • Patent number: 4034472
Abstract: A machine for semi-automatically trimming insulated conductor wires and inserting the trimmed wires into solderless terminals in connectors for effecting solderless conductive termination of the wires therein, with positioning control of the wires during prepositioning beside the connector and subsequent severance and transference into the terminals of the connector. The machine is capable of effecting such terminations in a variety of connectors.

  • Patent number: 4014087
Abstract: A machine for semi-automatically trimming insulated conductor wires and inserting the trimmed wires into solderless terminals in connectors for effecting solderless conductive termination of the wires therein, with positioning control of the wires during prepositioning beside the connector and subsequent severance and transference into the terminals of the connector, and with a programmer for selective prearranged skipping of terminals. The machine is capable of effecting such terminations in a variety of connectors.
