    Abstract: A sensor includes an anode and a cathode, and a near-infrared photoelectric conversion layer between the anode and the cathode. The near-infrared photoelectric conversion layer is configured to absorb light of at least a portion of a near-infrared wavelength spectrum and convert the absorbed light into an electrical signal. The near-infrared photoelectric conversion layer includes a first material having a maximum absorption wavelength in the near-infrared wavelength spectrum and a second material forming a pn junction with the first material and having a wider energy bandgap than an energy bandgap of the first material. The first material is included in the near-infrared photoelectric conversion layer in a smaller amount than the second material.

    Abstract: Disclosed are a recombinant acid-resistant yeast having improved lactic-acid-producing ability and a method of preparing lactic acid using the same. When producing lactic acid using the recombinant acid-resistant yeast according to the present invention, not only lactic-acid fermentation can be performed with lactic-acid-producing ability similar to that of bacterial fermentation using a remarkably smaller amount of a neutralizing agent than in the case of conventional bacterial fermentation, but also the production of ethanol and glycerol which are byproducts can be reduced. Thus, fermentation costs can be greatly reduced and the cost of subsequent purification processes can be reduced.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method of isolating extracellular vesicles using an aqueous two-phase system (ATPS), including (a) preparing an ATPS by mixing a first material and a second material, which are immiscible with each other, with a body fluid or an aqueous solution containing extracellular vesicles and (b) isolating extracellular vesicles concentrated in the second material of the ATPS. This method can exhibit very high isolation efficiency, a simple isolation manner, and a very short isolation time. The isolation of extracellular vesicles using the ATPS requires no ultracentrifuge and achieves almost 100% isolation efficiency within a short time of about 10˜20 min, and thus the method of the invention is practical, is economical due to low costs thereof, can increase the purity of extracellular vesicles contaminated with protein, enables the diagnosis of disease using the isolated extracellular vesicles, and can be applied to various fields using extracellular vesicles.
