  • Publication number: 20180173377
Abstract: Surfacing details of a condensed electronic conversation allows for the more efficient use of the condensed from of that electronic conversation. Important comments, attached documents, and other content items included in the condensed electronic conversation are provided in a control interface of the condensed electronic conversation that provide a user with details on those surfaced content items without expanding the display of the conversation. Elements representing the content items in the control interface are actuatable to, in various aspects, navigate to a relevant portion of the condensed electronic conversation, save the content item, or launch an application to view the content item.

  • Publication number: 20180157393
Abstract: A user interacts with a graphical user interface on a client device. The device displays a data visualization that includes configuration parameters. The device also displays one or more read-only static controls, each static control corresponding to a respective parameter. Each static control indicates the value assigned to the corresponding parameter. A first user action activates a first static control. The first static control corresponds to a first parameter with a first value. The device displays an editable indirect control in the graphical user interface, which displays the first value. The editable indirect control is larger than the first static control, and is superimposed over the corresponding static control. The user changes the first value to a second value, and the device updates the displayed data visualization based on the second value for the first parameter. The editable indirect control is subsequently removed from display in the graphical user interface.

  • Publication number: 20180146625
Abstract: A blade assembly for cutting roots is installed on a hand-carried weed cutter or hand-carried sidewalk edger. The blade assembly comprises a rear blade configured to support a plurality of blades on the shaft of the weed cutter. The rear blade has a plurality of teeth disposed around its perimeter, and a central opening configured to be received by the shaft of the weed trimmer. A front blade has a plurality of teeth disposed around its perimeter. Stacks of grinding segments are sandwiched together between the rear blade and the front blade, each stack of grinding segments extending partially around the blade assembly at an angle. Each grinding segment has a plurality of teeth disposed along an outer edge of the grinding segment. Spacers without teeth are adjacent to and separate the stacks of grinding segments from one another. The spacers are also sandwiched between the rear blade and the front blade.

A first and second cable each has a conductive core wire, an inner insulation, a braided sleeve, and an insulating cover. The junction or bond fixes and electrically connects the core wire of the second cable to the core wire of the first cable. A plurality of ferrules overlays the braided sleeve and the insulating cover of the first cable and the braided sleeve and the insulating cover of the second cable. A plurality of ring collars overlays the plurality of ferrules and is fixed to the plurality of ferrules. A splice cover or shield overlays the first cable, second cable, plurality of ferrules, and plurality of ring collars and electromagnetically seals the junction/bond between the core wires of the first cable and the second cable.

  • Publication number: 20180078798
Abstract: A user-wearable device incorporates a respirator or breathing air filter in combination with an electronic system providing functionality to a wearing user. The functionality can include, for example, physiological data sensing, environmental data sensing, user input, user output, and communication network connectivity. The electronic system can be configured to communicate with an application executing on a user host device, such as a mobile phone, tablet or personal computer for transferring information gathered by the user-wearable device. The application executing on the user host device can be used to configure the user-wearable device. User host devices of multiple users can be configured to report gathered data to a data management system, which can aggregate and store data and perform analysis on the aggregated data. Various control arrangements may be used.

  • Publication number: 20180065793
Abstract: A protective apparatus for an article, the apparatus including a surrounding sidewall having a first end portion and an opposing second end portion, the sidewall also having a perpendicularly oriented first margin portion and an opposing second margin portion, also with a primary interior. In addition, included is a plurality of particulate items loosely disposed within the primary interior and a structure for removable engagement positioned adjacent to the first and second margins. The removable engagement structure facilitates the first and second margins to be removably engaged allowing the surrounding sidewall to envelope the article. The primary interior can be evacuated, thus removing the air spaces between the particulate items and in the interior resulting in rigidifying the surrounding sidewall partially encompassing the article to protect the article.

  • Publication number: 20180063206
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing communication between participants of a shared user event, in which inputs from participants of the event cause a representation of the event at a user terminal to be updated. A time period is defined, from detection of a first input, during which subsequent inputs are collated, and the representation is updated at the end of the time period to take into account a combination of all the detected inputs. Inputs and corresponding updates may be grouped together by type, and different types may be processed independently, with independent time periods, possibly running in parallel.

  • Publication number: 20180023651
Abstract: A spring assembly is provided which decreases the fatigue and wear on the springs of the assembly. The spring assembly includes upper and lower pistons separated by a substantially incompressible fluid. The lower piston is attached to one or more springs. The surface area of the upper surface of the lower piston is greater than the surface area of the lower surface of the upper piston. As such, the springs are deflected by a distance less than the distance traveled by the upper piston. By decreasing the length the springs are compressed, the springs are subject to less fatigue and wear. As a result, the life span of the springs is increased and the maintenance required of the spring assembly is minimized relative to that of typical spring assemblies.

  • Publication number: 20170285030
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods of diagnosing and/or prognosing proliferative disorders, especially brain cancers (e.g. gliomas). In particular, the present invention provides a means to conveniently detect malignant tumours merely by assaying or analysing blood (particularly blood serum). Cytokines and/or angiogenesis factors in blood serum have been found to be surprisingly powerful at indicating the presence of brain cancers in a subject. Moreover, spectroscopic analysis, especially ATR-FTIR analysis, of a blood sample has been demonstrated to be surprisingly effective at producing a signature that can be correlated with the presence, extent, severity, or aggressiveness of malignant tumours in a subject.
