  • Patent number: 10407844
Abstract: A material feed system for a paving machine includes a first optical sensor and a second optical sensor that are configured to generate data characteristic of paving material associated with corresponding ones of a left feed mechanism and a right feed mechanism of the paving machine. A controller is communicably coupled to the first optical sensor, the second optical sensor, a left conveyor, and a left auger of the left feed mechanism, and a right conveyor and a right auger of the right feed mechanism. The controller is configured to control the left material feed mechanism and the right material feed mechanism independently of each other such that the left conveyor and auger speeds are independently adjusted based on the data received from the first optical sensor and the right conveyor and auger speeds are independently adjusted based on the data received from the second optical sensor.

  • Patent number: 10357400
Abstract: Eyewear, such as a goggle, is provided that can include an anterior module and an interchangeable posterior module. The anterior module can be adapted to support at least one lens in a wearer's field of view. The posterior module can be adapted to fit against a contour of the wearer's face and can be selectively interchangeable with the anterior module to modify at least one physical characteristic of the eyewear. In some embodiments, the anterior and posterior modules can be coupled by a suspension assembly in order to allow articulation of the posterior module relative to the anterior module for evenly distributing forces against the wearer's face. Further, the anterior module can be rigid for maintaining the lens in an optically-desirable orientation. Furthermore, the goggle can comprise an interchangeable lens mechanism to facilitate interchanging of lenses in the goggle. The goggle can comprise a roll-off system or tear-off system.

  • Publication number: 20190054318
Abstract: The present invention provides electron beam therapies with improved feedback control that delivers controlled and adjustable doses of electron beam radiation to variable shallow depths with little radiation exposure to both nearby tissues and tissues below the target. In order to control radiation to accurately penetrate to shallow depths and to allow the radiation to be adjusted to other depth settings in very small or even continuous increments, the present invention senses a plurality of different electron beam characteristics and then uses these to derive a composite characteristic, or analog, of the electron beam energy. The composite analog provides a strong correlation to energy that allows this precision. In another aspect, the present invention relates to implementing this feedback control by adjusting power levels used to establish the electron beam.

  • Publication number: 20180243315
Abstract: The invention relates to inhibition of wild-type and certain mutant forms of human histone methyltransferase EZH2, the catalytic subunit of the PRC2 complex which catalyzes the mono- through tri-methylation of lysine 27 on histone H3 (H3-K27). In one embodiment the inhibition is selective for the mutant form of the EZH2, such that trimethylation of H3-K27, which is associated with certain cancers, is inhibited. The methods can be used to treat cancers including follicular lymphoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Also provided are methods for identifying small molecule selective inhibitors of the mutant forms of EZH2 and also methods for determining responsiveness to an EZH2 inhibitor in a subject.

  • Patent number: 10031821
Abstract: A system to protect and reconfigure a computer network in case of advance warning of a disruption event that would disrupt the operation of the computer network is presented. The system comprises a main control system (MCS) that comprises a software system that makes continuous local backups of data nodes, maintains a plurality of remote backups, and maintains an ordered list of the remote backups. With the first warning of the disruption event, the MCS: 1) locks down some virtual servers at each remote backup and secures a selected remote backup; 2) determines the expected start and end time of the disruption event; 3) warns users about the disruption event; 4) uses the selected remote backup to provide a local copy of the data nodes; and 5) shuts down vulnerable critical systems. When the disruption event occurs, the MCS promotes the selected remote backup to be the primary data node.

  • Publication number: 20170342749
Abstract: A latch assembly and a method of disengaging the latch assembly for a vehicle door are provided. In particular, the latch assembly includes a releasing lever that is moveably attached to the latch assembly via a pawl and is moveable between an engaged and disengaged position to unlatch the latch assembly. Additionally, a lock lever interacts with an override assembly to control whether the vehicle door is opened. The override assembly requires two movements to move the lock lever to an unlocked position and to open the latch during a power failure.

  • Patent number: 9674965
Abstract: Utilizing a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) for assembling an electronic device can have certain benefits, such as ease of automation and instant handling or short handling time that may save time, effort, and costs during manufacturing. A liquid adhesive, on the other hand, can provide superior bond strength relative to a PSA such that a device manufactured using a liquid adhesive may perform better with respect to structural rigidity, dynamic response, impact resistance, and other reliability testing. An electronic device manufacturer can take advantage of the benefits of each type of adhesive during device assembly by incorporating both a PSA and a liquid adhesive to bond two substrates of the device, such as a cover glass or sheet and a housing structure or frame.
