  • Publication number: 20200170501
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are presented for obtaining high-resolution 3-D images of a sample over a range of wavelengths, optionally with polarisation-sensitive detection. In preferred embodiments a spectral domain OCT apparatus is used to sample the complex field of light reflected or scattered from a sample, providing full range imaging. In certain embodiments structured illumination is utilised to provide enhanced lateral resolution. In certain embodiments the resolution or depth of field of images is enhanced by digital refocusing or digital correction of aberrations in the sample. Individual sample volumes are imaged using single shot techniques, and larger volumes can be imaged by stitching together images of adjacent volumes.

  • Publication number: 20200163683
Abstract: The invention provides a reamer handle comprising: a shank having a distal tool coupling end adapted to releasably couple to a part of a surgical tool and a proximal end; a retractable catch which is linearly displaceable along the shank between a non-retracted position in which the catch captures the surgical tool within the distal tool coupling end of the tool holder and a retracted position in which the catch enables the tool to be released from the distal tool coupling end; a biasing member configured to bias the catch in the non-retracted position; and a sleeve extending along the shank. The sleeve comprises: a distally located catch contacting portion and a proximally located handle portion for manually displacing the sleeve relative to the shank such that displacement of the catch contacting portion moves the retractable catch between the non-retracted position and the retracted position to enable capture and release of the tool from the tool holder.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure include methods, components and wireless devices configured to determine appropriate generalized system-wide thermal management policies and settings in wireless devices depending upon whether communication activities are driving or otherwise causing thermal conditions. In various aspects, a processor may determine workload characteristics and select and apply an appropriate thermal management policy/solution (or thermal configuration, settings etc.) based on the determine workload characteristics. The processor may determine workload characteristics based upon data from two or more temperature sensors within the wireless device. The processor may select a generalized system-wide thermal management policy suitable for operating when communication activities (e.g., 5G communication activities) are generating so much heat that CPU-centric thermal management policies are in appropriate.
