    Abstract: Disclosed embodiments provide techniques for implementation of a photographic effect. An image is acquired while in a zoom configuration. The image is divided into pixel groups. A distance is determined for each group of pixels. The groups of pixels are based on the detected distance of the group of pixels from the camera. The detected distance can be based on the autofocus module within the camera. The detected distance can be a relative distance or an absolute distance. An expansion factor is determined for each group of pixels based on the corresponding determined distance. Expanded pixel groups are created for each pixel group based on the expansion factor. The expanded pixel groups are composited together to create the processed image.

    Abstract: The preferred embodiments described herein provide a medical diagnostic ultrasound imaging system with a wirelessly-controlled peripheral. In one preferred embodiment, an ultrasound imaging system transmits a peripheral command to an ultrasound peripheral via a first wireless communication device, and the peripheral receives the command via a second wireless communication device. The peripheral performs an operation in response to the receipt of the command. Data is communicated between the ultrasound system and the peripheral via a data transmission medium that physically couples the ultrasound system and peripheral. With this preferred embodiment, an ultrasound system can control a peripheral without the disadvantages associated with current ultrasound system-peripheral configurations.

    Abstract: An EMI filter and method of manufacturing thereof is described. The filter includes two or more power conductors and a ground conductor. The power conductors and the ground conductor are separately wound onto a core to form a common-mode choke. The filter may be located in an equipment chassis. Capacitors may be coupled to the choke to improve filter performance. The core may comprise at least two magnetic beads. The core material and number of turns of the conductors may be chose to control the frequency range of common-mode noise rejection. The frequency range may be that in which adequate common-mode noise rejection is achieved for a diagnostic ultrasound machine, e.g., approximately 0 to 20 MHz.
