  • Publication number: 20170145126
Abstract: In one aspect, the present invention encompasses safe and efficient methods for providing highly pure acrylic acid. In certain embodiments, the inventive methods include the step of producing polypropiolactone from ethylene oxide at a first location, transporting the polymer to a second location and pyrolyzing the polypropiolactone to provide glacial acrylic acid. In certain embodiments, the step of pyrolyzing the polymer is performed continuously in conjunction with a polymerization process to make SAPs.
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 25, 2016
    Publication date: May 25, 2017
    Applicant: Novomer, Inc.

  • Patent number: 6818760
Abstract: This invention provides methods for removing unincorporated dye-labeled molecules from a mixture that includes dye-labeled polynucleotides or other polymers and the unincorporated dye-labeled molecules. The methods involve adsorbing the unincorporated dye-labeled molecules into a plurality of particles that are made up of one or more porous hydrophobic materials that are encapsulated in a hydrophilic matrix.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 6, 2000
Date of Patent: November 16, 2004
    Assignee: Prolinx Incorporated
Inventors: Douglas A. Spicer, Karin A. Hughes, Robert J. Kaiser, James E. Mahoney, Amy L. Springer, Mark L. Stolowitz, Carl H. D. Weissman
  • Patent number: 6414136
Abstract: This invention provides methods for removing unincorporated fluorescent dye-labeled molecules from a mixture that includes fluorescently-labeled polynucleotides and the unincorporated fluorescent dye-labeled molecules. The methods involve adsorbing the unincorporated fluorescent dye-labeled molecules into a plurality of particles that are made up of one or more porous hydrophobic materials that are encapsulated in a hydrophilic matrix.
