  • Patent number: 7262705
Abstract: A recessed detector assembly having the capability to detect and evacuate air laden with airborne substances from within the assembly. The assembly includes a detector frame adapted to be flush mounted into a mounting box mounted in a ceiling or a wall, the frame having exposed vents allowing air containing airborne substances to enter the frame; at least one sensor mounted in the detector frame for sensing one or more of the airborne substances and for exhausting the airborne substances, the at least one sensor generating a signal causing an exhaust fan or a drop down sensor for evacuating the one or more airborne substances to operate when a presence of the one or more of the airborne substances is sensed to exceed predetermined levels. Accordingly, the detector may be promptly reset and an alarm may be promptly turned off when airborne substances in the room drop below the predetermined levels.

  • Patent number: 5284341
Abstract: A football is provided with rearwardly extending fins which promote a tight spiralling rotation of the football when it is thrown through the air. A first of the fins is joined to the football by a centrally located notch therein which interlocks with a second fin integral with the football body when the first fin is passed through a centrally located slot in the second fin and adjacent football body. The fins include flat end surfaces which may be received on a supporting surface for supporting the ball in an upright position. The rearwardly extending fins elevate the body portion above the supporting surface and thereby make it easier to kick.

  • Patent number: 5224893
Abstract: A bubble producing toy which resembles a spinning baton. It includes a handle and a cross-member rotatably mounted on the handle. A liquid bubble solution is stored in a reservoir in the hub of the cross-member. A pair of oppositely extending arms form part of the cross-member. A bubble diffuser is attached to the outer end of one of the arms and an imitation bubble diffuser is attached to the outer end of the other arm. The bubble diffuser arm is hollow and functions as a conduit to deliver the liquid bubble solution to the diffuser. The diffuser has a rotating wand which is driven by the rotation of the cross-member relative to the handle. The wand wipes a film of liquid bubble solution across elongated openings in the bubble diffuser. Air passing through passages in the rotating wand and the bubble diffuser creates bubbles from the liquid bubble solution film.
