  • Patent number: 9572741
Abstract: A surgical table arm support assembly and surgical table therewith is provided. The assembly includes a mount bracket and an upright support member operably attached to the mount bracket. A lateral support member is operably attached to the upright support member. The lateral support member is selectively movable about 3 axes. An arm support member is operably attached to the lateral support member. The arm support member is selectively movable about 3-axes. The arm support member can be precisely positioned and releasably fixed in the desired position to best assure the patient's arm, which is releasably fixed to the arm support member, is properly supported and located over the course of a lengthy surgical procedure to minimize the risk of trauma resulting from the arm being supported in a rearward extending, elevated position.

  • Publication number: 20120170710
Abstract: A patient support surface, patient support system in combination with a CT scanner, and method of installing a patient support system for a surgical procedure is provided. The patient support surface includes a radiolucent elongate first member having laterally spaced first side members extending between opposite ends with a plurality of cross members extending between the first side members. The support surface further includes an elongate second member having laterally spaced second side members extending between opposite ends with a plurality of cross members extending between the second side members. One of the opposite ends of the first member is configured for attachment to one of the ends of the second member. The other of the opposite ends of the first member is configured for attachment to a first support, and the other of the opposite ends of the second member is configured for attachment to a second support.

  • Patent number: 6598540
Abstract: A pallet cover has a top panel and side panels hinged to the top panel for swinging movements from a substantially vertical position depending from the top panel through an arc sufficient to enable each side panel to overlie the top panel. The pallet is provided with supports which enable it to be stacked with one or more other pallets and the cover is notched to accommodate the stacking supports and provide an interlock therewith to ensure retention of the cover on the associated pallet.

  • Patent number: 6427996
Abstract: Workpiece transfer support apparatus has a housing having a chamber therein for the removable accommodation of a support body which may be equipped with a workpiece engaging and supporting member. That portion of the support body which is accommodated in the chamber is engaged by and urged into a seating position with seating surfaces within the chamber. A locking bolt is movable into and out of engagement with the support member when the latter is within the chamber and acts on such support member to maintain it in snug engagement with the seating surfaces. A safety latch is provided to avoid inadvertent removal of the support body from the chamber of the housing.

  • Patent number: 6293538
Abstract: A magnetic fanner for providing a gap between stacked, magnetically permeable sheets has a housing formed of non-magnetically permeable material defining a sealed chamber within which a piston is reciprocable between a first position in which magnets carried by the piston are adjacent the stacked sheets to another position in which the magnets are remote from the stacked sheets. The piston is movable in response to the presence of unequal fluid pressures in the housing on opposite sides of the piston and pressurized fluid may be delivered to a selected side of the piston in controlled relation to the exhaust of pressure fluid from the opposite side of the piston. Pressure fluid delivery and exhaust is obtained via passages in rods which span the housing chamber and guide the piston during its movements.

  • Patent number: 6116845
Abstract: Articulating workpiece transfer apparatus comprises a pair of identical housings each of which has a circular flange projecting from one side of the housing and abutting one another. Each flange has adjacent its periphery a beveled edge. A circular clamp has a concave groove in which the peripheral edges of the flanges are accommodated, and such clamp is operable to apply a clamping force on each flange urging the latter into face-to-face engagement with one another. Each housing has a cylindrical opening for the accommodation of an elongate transfer arm which is linearly slideable and rotatable about the axis of the arm. Each housing includes a clamp which enables and disables relative movement between the associated arm and the housing. The housings are rotatable relative to each other about an axis which passes through both flanges and which is normal to the axis of rotation of the respective transfer arms.

  • Patent number: 4561536
Abstract: A conveyor comprises a plurality of rotors spaced longitudinally along a conveyor frame, each rotor having a rotatable shaft on which is fixed a number of axially spaced discs. The discs are staggered laterally of the conveyor and are of such diameter that the discs of adjacent rotors overlap one another. Each disc has at least one notch in its periphery, but the remainder of the peripheral surface is smooth. The notches of the discs of each rotor are adapted to support a workpiece and transfer it from one rotor to another in response to rotation thereof. A barrier is mounted between each adjacent pair of rotors to prevent transfer of a workpiece from one set of discs to another unless the workpiece is properly seated in the notches of the upstream rotor. Each rotor has a clutch assembly connecting it to a continuously operable driving motor, thereby enabling any rotor to cease rotation without stopping the motor.
