  • Patent number: 6085360
Abstract: For use with a toilet having a toilet bowl and a lid mounted to pivot between a closed position covering the bowl and an open position pivoted approximately 90.degree. from the bowl, an apparatus for automatically closing the lid includes a control mechanism engageable with the lid for locking the lid in the open position when the lid is pivoted to the open position and a timer mechanism for actuating the control mechanism to release the lid from the open position after the passage of a predetermined time. Where the toilet includes a toilet seat pivotally mounted to the toilet bowl between the bowl and the lid and is pivotable from a closed position resting atop the bowl, a timer suspension system temporarily suspends operation of the timer mechanism while at least a predetermined weight is applied to the seat in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 4934659
Abstract: A hoist and dolly apparatus includes a pair of vertical columns mounted with angle braces to a horizontal base supported by wheels. A boom has a proximal end pivotally connected to cross braces extending between the vertical columns, and a distal end carrying a pulley. A cable reel is rotatably mounted between the vertical columns, and a cable extends from the reel to and over the pulley at the distal end of the boom. A crank handle is connected through a crank shaft to the crank reel. A cable reel brake is provided for securing the cable reel in a selected position, and a cable brake release provides for controlled releasing of the brake to permit taking up and feeding out of cable from the cable reel.

  • Patent number: 4410316
Abstract: A method for the production of corrugated paper comprising the steps of feeding a continuous sheet of paper over a first arcuate roller, making several folds in the paper along lines of radius of the first arcuate roller, passing the paper over a second arcuate roller which has the same center of curvature as the first arcuate roller, and unfolding the paper folds to yield the corrugated paper. The paper preferably turns about 90.degree. in passing over the first and second arcuate rollers, and after being unfolded there is provided additional corrugations by use of crimping rollers or the like.

  • Patent number: 4129119
Abstract: A solar energy collector is disclosed herein which comprises a pipe interconnecting lower and upper headers, the upper header structurally supporting the pipe. The pipe extends within an opening in the lower header and includes an exterior shoulder which rests upon the lower header. The other end of the pipe includes an exterior shoulder, the pipe extending into an opening in the upper header. A spring rests on the shoulder on the upper end of the pipe and holds a combination bearing and fluid seal against the upper header. A parabolic reflector is supported by the pipe, and a fluid is movable through the pipe from one header to the other for receiving the solar energy focused upon the pipe by the reflector. The pipe is operable to rotate to direct the reflector toward the sun.
