  • Publication number: 20110271567
Abstract: An aerial advertising device for providing predictable and consistent oscillations to a banner towed behind an aircraft. The aerial advertising device may be disposed at the bottom of the leading edge of a banner. The device may generally comprise a weight box disposed above a wind box. The device may be rotatable about the leading edge or extension, wherein the range of motion of such rotation may be limited by a restriction arm preventing further motion of the device relative to the leading edge. Such rotation may allow the inside walls of the wind box to transfer the applied wind force to the rotation of the device and thereby the rotation of the leading edge of the banner. The weight box may further comprise a horizontal translation arm upon which a slidable weight may slide as the translation arm is moved into greater angular positions relative to horizontal.

  • Patent number: 4712906
Abstract: An electrostatographic copier or printer includes a transfer apparatus which transfers two or more images to the same surface in registration, for example, to form a multicolor image. The copier or printer forms large size electrostatic images on a moving image member with the long dimension of the images parallel to the direction of motion and small size images with their long dimension across the direction of motion. A transfer drum with a circumference substantially equal to the distance between comparable points on the image member between consecutive large images or pairs of small images transfers consecutive large images or pairs of small images in registration. The preferred transfer drum is of the type which rotates secured copy sheets into transfer relation with two or more toner images to receive them in registration. The drum includes means for either securing one large copy sheet or two smaller copy sheets. This doubles the speed of the copier or printer when in the smaller sheet mode.

  • Patent number: 4705513
Abstract: A disposable diaper which is capable of providing a readily visible indication when wet which includes a strip of moisture absorbing paper of a selected water insoluble color, or carrying a water insoluble printed pattern on its inner side, the strip being inserted between the absorbent pad of the diaper and the translucent moisture-impervious outer layer. So long as the diaper is dry, the pattern is covered by the carrier strip, and is not visible. However, when the diaper is wet, the carrier strip absorbs the moisture and becomes transparent, so that the pattern is visible through the translucent outer layer not only that the diaper is wet, but the degree of wetness.

  • Patent number: 4211259
Abstract: A plastic (polyvinylchloride-PVC) pipe is provided which is shaped to receive the end of an adjacent pipe such that the two pipes may be joined together by a tight adhesive seal in a simple and expeditious manner. In accordance with the invention, an internal peripheral channel is provided adjacent to one end of the pipe. The channel is displaced inwardly from the end of the pipe, and is entirely covered by the end of a second pipe, when that end is inserted into the first pipe. An entrance port for the channel is provided which extends through the first pipe into the channel. This port is preferably shaped to receive the nose of an adhesive gun which is used to inject adhesive through the entrance port into the peripheral channel. The adhesive used may be any appropriate adhesive, such as presently is being used to bond plastic pipes to one another. An exit port is provided which is angularly displaced from the entrance port, and which extends from the channel through the first pipe.

  • Patent number: 4145775
Abstract: A water saving device is provided in the form of a flow control valve, which may be installed in the refill tube for the toilet bowl of a water closet, and which may be adjusted to establish the proper amount of refill water to flow into the toilet bowl after each flush, so as to avoid wastage. The device, in one of its embodiments, may be installed in the refill tube of an existing water closet. The device can also be mounted directly on the main toilet valve unit as a built-in item for newly manufactured toilets.

  • Patent number: 4042984
Abstract: An automatic water level control system for a bathtub is provided whereby the user merely sets a manual control to a desired water level. The control system then sequentially closes the bathtub drain and turns on the water faucet. The water faucet is preferably of the temperature mixing type which has previously been pre-set by the user, so that water at a desired temperature flows into the tub. When a selected, pre-set level has been reached, the water is automatically turned off and the bath is ready. The control system uses solenoid controlled valves connected to the usual manually controlled valves in such a manner that the normal manual control of the bath water is not interfered with in any way when the automatic control system is not activated.
