    Abstract: The present invention provides polymer blends that can be used in a multilayer structure and to multilayer structures comprising one or more layers formed from such blends. In one aspect, a polymer blend comprises a copolymer comprising ethylene and at least one of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid having an acid content greater than 4 and up to 25 weight percent based on the weight of the copolymer and having a melt index (I2) of 1 to 60 g/10 minutes, wherein the total amount of ethylene acrylic acid copolymer and ethylene methacrylic acid copolymer comprises 45 to 99 weight percent of the blend based on the total weight of the blend, and a polyolefin having a density of 0.870 g/cm3 or more and having a melt index (I2) of 20 g/10 minutes or less, wherein the polyolefin comprises 1 to 55 weight percent of the blend based on the total weight of the blend.

The composition comprises a polymeric material having a rheology such that the slope S of a natural log-natural log plot of loss modulus (or G?) versus storage modulus (or G?) is greater than [0.635*(melt index)+13.2]/[(melt index)+16.6], and wherein the polymeric material has a CDF RI fraction less than 0.23 of a GPC chromatogram which has a molecular weight above 85,000 g/mol, and a CDF LS fraction of more than 0.07 at a conventional GPC molecular weight of 1,750,000 g/mol or greater. The compositions exhibit reduced neck-in when used in extrusion coating and the neck-in is independent of melt strength, thereby facilitating improved extrusion processes.

A method embodiment positions a Host Transfer Vehicle (HTV) in proximity to an orbiting system, captures a passive cargo container launched from a ground by a grappling arm of the HTV, couples the passive cargo container to the HTV to form an HTV/cargo container stack, propels the HTV/cargo container stack within proximity of an orbiting system, and through the use of a grappling arm of the orbiting system berths the HTV/cargo container stack via a coupling structure on the cargo container to the orbiting system. The cargo container can then receive cargo from the orbiting system and either return to the ground or the cargo container can be burned up in the atmosphere.

    Abstract: This invention relates to a pinhole-free, pinhole-resistant extrusion composition comprising at least one olefin polymer and to a method of making a pinhole-free, pinhole-resistant coated or laminated substrate. The invention uses either a single polymer composition or a polymer blend wherein the composition has a corrected or actual Goettfert melt strength value in the range of from about 0.01 to about 6.5 centiNetwons to provide a pinhole-free, pinhole-resistant extrusion coating, extrusion lamination, adhesive lamination or in-mold coating or the like. Suitable olefin polymers include high pressure, free-radical initiated ethylene polymers and homogeneously branched ethylene polymers with polymer blends of low density polyethylene and substantially linear ethylene polymers particularly preferred. The coatings, moldings, films or laminations are useful for various substrates including paperboard and can protect against product leakage in such applications as disposable cups for hot beverages.
