  • Publication number: 20240127427
Abstract: A scanning device and methods for generating floorplans by combining different scans of a large area are provided. During scanning, a preview of the scanned area is shown on a display of the scanning device to assist a user to orientate the scanning device to scan the space. The scanning device is further configured to display instructions/prompts to the user to assist in scanning. For example, the device may prompt the user to pause scanning when device memory becomes depleted. A method for generating a floorplan from multiple scans comprises pausing a first scan a reference point and commencing a second scan at the reference. The reference point is used to combine the first scan data and the second scan data to generate an overall floorplan of the scanned space.

  • Publication number: 20230214556
Abstract: A method and associated system for generating vectorized architectural plans. The method includes inputting an architectural plan into a trained machine learning model, receiving a translated architectural plan as an output from the trained machine learning model, and post processing the translated architectural plan to generate a vectorized architectural plan.

  • Patent number: 11525685
Abstract: Systems and methods for creating electronic indoor maps for emergency services are provided. The system has a processor operatively coupled to at least one storage unit and a communication component, the processor being configured for: receiving a service provider identifier from a computing device of at least one computing device; granting the computing device access to an annotation layer of an electronic map of at least one electronic map based on the service provider identifier; generating at least one annotation in response to receiving at least one selection of a service resource within a facility from the computing device; and storing the at least one annotation in the annotation layer.

  • Publication number: 20210303763
Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods for geometry simplification and filtering are provided. The systems and methods may provide for automated simplification and filtering of visually complex architectural diagrams to their most important features, as may be desirable for creating maps that are true to real world instantiations. The method may use a conditional generative adversarial network (cGAN) that may be particularly well suited to identifying geometry in feature-poor architectural drawings.

  • Patent number: 11022442
Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems for indoor mapping are described herein. The methods include providing an indoor map containing a current location of a user device, the indoor map having a containing exterior space, a contained interior space within the containing exterior space, and a linkage, the linkage having a coordinate transformation to project coordinates of the interior space onto coordinates of the exterior space. The methods also include receiving a point of interest, determining a path from the current location to the point of interest, the current location and the point of interest being in walkable areas, the path including a transition between the interior space and the exterior space, and providing instructions to navigate along the path, the coordinates of the interior space and the coordinates of the exterior space are referenced by either the instructions prior to the transition and the instructions after the transition.

  • Patent number: 10859382
Abstract: A computer-readable storage medium encoded with a data structure for describing a map of a facility having venue elements is provided. Each venue element has at least one map, structural metadata and a plurality of walkable areas. A method of providing navigation instructions is also provided. The method includes providing a facility map, determining a destination on the facility map, selecting a path type, determining a target route between a current location and the destination, the target route being associated with the path type, and determining a navigation instruction along the target route.

  • Patent number: 10636207
Abstract: A system and method for generating a three-dimensional (3D) map of a facility is provided. The system has at least one processor and a memory having stored thereon instructions that, upon execution by the at least one processor, cause the system to perform functions comprising: receiving a two-dimensional (2D) map of the facility; converting or importing the 2D map to a base map; generating or editing polygons on the base map, each polygon representative of a facility unit in the base map; generating one or more perspectives at one or more points on the base map to generate the 3D map.

  • Patent number: 10606532
Abstract: Provided is a system and a method for generating a printable map of a facility. The method includes receiving a request sent by a device at a print server, retrieving electronic wayfinding data by the print server, generating an initial printable map based on the electronic wayfinding data, displaying the initial printable map on the device, receiving one or more customizations entered on the device by a user, and updating the initial printable map to include the one or more customizations.
