  • Patent number: 9986060
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a geographic information system (GIS) for collecting data for future usage. In operation, a spatial server receives an image request to a client device, applies a hash function to the image request to generate a standardized identifier. The GIS client device uses the standardized identifier, attributes of GIS data associated with the standardized identifier or the GIS data, or attributes of GIS data associated with a stored identifier that corresponds to the standardized identifier to determine whether to retrieve or cache a GIS data associated with the standardized or stored identifier for display on the client device.

  • Patent number: 9819633
Abstract: Systems and methods of the present disclosure are directed to categorizing messages. A first server can receive, from a second server maintaining a plurality of social media messages, a message. The first server can categorize the message under a first category or a second category. The first server can process the message and determine a frequency of each of the words included in the processed message. The first server determines, using a probabilistic engine executing on the first server, a relevancy score of the modified message indicating a level of relevance between the message and the first category based on the determined frequency of each of the words. The first server, responsive to determining that the relevancy score satisfies a threshold, can categorize the message under the first category.

  • Publication number: 20170293486
Abstract: A system and method process atomic instructions. A processor system includes a load store unit (LSU), first and second registers, a memory interface, and a main memory. In response to a load link (LL) instruction, the LSU loads first data from memory into the first register and sets an LL bit (LLBIT) to indicate a sequence of atomic instructions is being executed. The LSU further loads second data from memory into the second register in response to a load (LD) instruction. The LSU places a value of the second register into the memory interface in response to a store conditional coupled (SCX) instruction. When the LLBIT is set and in response to a store (SC) instruction, the LSU places a value of the second register into the memory interface and commits the first and second register values in the memory interface into the main memory when the LLBIT is set.

  • Publication number: 20170277539
Abstract: A processor employs hardware to save the program counter value of the next instruction to be executed in a branch instruction when an exception occurs. This is the branch target address in the case where the exception occurs in the delay slot of a taken branch. The value is saved to a register when an exception occurs. The kernel code can then read the register to determine the address which it should return to after an exception. This eliminates the need to emulate the branch instruction and also eliminates the need to keep the kernel up to date with the knowledge of how to emulate all branches in an Instruction Set Architecture.

  • Publication number: 20170227435
Abstract: The properties of a fluid body in the form of a surface-attached droplet/bubble can be determined. A data set is stored describing a plurality of droplets/bubbles of different shapes; each shape is captured as a combination of two or more linear dimensional measurements. For each shape the data set includes one or more parameters describing the relationship between the physical properties of a pair of fluids capable of forming that shape as a surface-attached droplet/bubble disposed in a surrounding fluid medium. A fluid body is provided in the form of a surface-attached droplet/bubble and a plurality of linear dimensional measurements are taken and provided as input to a processing apparatus. Processing apparatus determines from the data set the one or more parameters associated with the shape described by said linear dimensional measurements. Particular the surface tension of a fluid can be found in this way based on simple dimensional measurements.

  • Publication number: 20160272392
Abstract: A thermoplastic baling strip comprises an elongate band of thermoplastic material said elongate band having sufficient flexibility to be formed into a knot; the elongate band having an outer surface formed with a set of surface undulations extending along its main length. The plurality of surface undulations operate in use to grip a surface to which said strip surface contacts. The use of undulations extending along the length of the strip enable the strip to be reliably tied in a knot, without releasing or coming undone when transported. Complete bales can be fed into an incinerator without the need to remove the baling strip, which burns on incineration.
