  • Patent number: 4277898
Abstract: A hydraulic control system is disclosed for a hydrostatically operated earth-working machine which automatically adjusts the travel speed of the machine in response to the load conditions being encountered by an attached powered implement. The system includes a control cylinder which is connected into the hydraulic circuit that powers the implement to sense changes in hydraulic pressure due to increased or decreased loads on the implement. Hydraulic pressure in the implement circuit extends the control cylinder piston when the implement is under load. An adjustable spring mechanism reacts against the rod end of the piston to keep the piston retracted in the cylinder when there is no load on the implement. A control link is pivotally mounted to the piston rod free end for selective connection to the ground drive control of the machine.

  • Patent number: 4260290
Abstract: The disclosed vibratory cable plow has a generally horizontal boom supported on transverse horizontal and vertical pivots and a trailer supported on the boom by a vertical pivot. A plow blade is supported on a vibration isolating frame beneath the trailer. In a first embodiment, the rear of the assembly is supported on wheels which are pivoted by piston-cylinders to control the depth of penetration of the plow blade. The first embodiment of the disclosed plow assembly provides remote steering, blade pitch, boom tilt, and depth adjustment and the entire assembly may be raised by piston-cylinders, about the transverse horizontal pivot, for transport. In a second embodiment of the cable plow, the rear of the assembly is supported on V-shaped struts, and the plow frame is supported within the opening formed by the struts on converging upper and lower links.

  • Patent number: 4197918
Abstract: A subterranean plow blade for mounting onto a tractor in a clamping fashion for fast and easy mounting and removal. A blade holder is affixed to a tractor, and clamp pieces are pivotly mounted on the holder with one piece thereof engaging the blade and the other pieces forcing the first one piece tightly against the blade for holding same. The holding pieces are adjustably interrelated to accommodate variations in piece and blade sizes. The blade is arranged with a leading edge which penetrates the ground and has its intermediate portion sharpened while the portion above and below that intermediate sharpened portion is blunt or unsharpened, all for maximum functioning in moving through the ground. Also, the blade has notches on its leading and trailing edges for the ready mounting with the blade holder.

  • Patent number: 4120366
Abstract: A mounting arrangement for mounting a dozer blade on a vehicle so that it is capable of being tilted, angled, and raised and lowered is disclosed herein. The mounting structure includes a member that is adapted to be attached to the vehicle and defines a vertical pivot axis which supports a bracket that is pivoted through a fluid ram attached to the bracket and the vehicle. The bracket supports a pair of arms that are connected thereto through universal connections which are located on a common horizontal axis and the blade is attached to the opposite ends of the arms through further universal connections so that the blade can be raised and lowered by a lift fluid ram interposed between the bracket and the blade. A rigid link is connected to one of the arms and to the blade above the connection for the arm while the second arm has a single tilt fluid ram connected thereto and to the blade so that extension and retraction of the tilt fluid ram will tilt the lower edge of the blade.

  • Patent number: 4079593
Abstract: The disclosed vibratory cable plot has two in line plow blades supported on a trailer having a transverse horizontal pivot and a vibrator which imparts a rocking oscillatory motion to the trailer and the blades. The first blade is preferably shorter, but thicker than the second trailing blade. The second blade is longer than the first blade and has a trailing cable guide guiding flexible cable, pipe and the like into the slot cut by the blades. The double blade assembly is more efficient than a single blade and reduces blade wear.
