  • Patent number: 7854692
Abstract: A cost effective training belt that offers the ability to vary the release resistance and that allows the release resistance to remain relatively constant throughout the life of the belt. In one disclosed embodiment, the reaction belt has a first and second belt detachably secured together with a detaching structure that can connect the first and second belts together in at least two different ways. Each of the connecting ways offers a different release resistance; thereby a user can select the desired release resistance by selecting which way to connect the two belts together.

  • Publication number: 20100209294
Abstract: In order to disinfect and to detoxify a fluid, a photoreactor contains at least two light sources. One light source activates the catalytic function of a semiconductor material in the fluid to reduce the concentration of contaminants in the fluid, such as by breaking down organic contaminants into non-toxic compounds. A second light source acts directly on living biological entities to sterilize or kill them and thereby disinfect the fluid, and can also serve to activate a semiconductor photocatalyst that in turn causes further damage to biological contaminants. The semiconductor photocatalyst is desirably attached to an optically transmitting fiber substrate in the fluid. The second light source in one embodiment is external to the fluid and illuminates the photocatalyst through transmitting surfaces in a fluid containment vessel. The light sources can comprise respective sets of plural LEDs.

  • Publication number: 20080154178
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for powering and/or controlling electrically powered devices. A power supply system is operable to provide a voltage across at the active and the counter electrode assemblies of a transdermal delivery device. The system includes a power source and a magnetic coupling element.

  • Patent number: 6726225
Abstract: An ankle support, particularly for in-line skates, which includes a base support that wraps about the users heel and a spaced upper support which wraps about the user's leg. The upper and base supports are fixedly joined by a plurality of struts. At least one stop secured to either the upper support or the struts abuts a stop on the base support to provide a hard stop for maximum braking.

  • Patent number: 6614895
Abstract: This invention relates to maintaining a customer database in a computer telephony integrated (CTI) database. In particular it relates to populating and maintaining a customer database in a computer telephony system with shared and unique telephone numbers. There is described a method, apparatus and a computer program product relating to the processing records in a telephony database. The telephony system receives an ANI number along with an incoming call and uses that number to identify records, if any, in the customer database having telephone numbers that match the ANI number. A new record is created in the database if no record from the identified records corresponds to the incoming telephone call and the new record includes a telephone number field containing the ANI number. If one or more records were identified in the database the telephone number in the new record is associated with a shared status.

  • Patent number: 6406040
Abstract: A binding has a heel loop and a highback pivotally connected to the heel loop. A lever mechanism has a first portion pivotally connected to the highback and a second portion which operably engages the heel loop. Rotation of the lever mechanism causes the highback to move between a neutral position and a forward lean position. In certain preferred embodiments, the first portion of the lever mechanism is adjustably pivotally connected to the highback. In certain preferred embodiments, the second portion of the lever mechanism is secured to the heel loop.

  • Patent number: 5600788
Abstract: A testing device has an architecture including a board test interface for coupling to test points on a circuit board; a programmable processor, coupled to the board test interface, for controlling a test of the circuit board via the board test interface; and a first communications interface, coupled to the programmable processor, for coupling to a like first communications interface located on another testing device. The programmable processor uses the first communications interface for communicating test commands and test results with the other testing device, so that a complete test of a system can be produced. The testing device may further include a control port, coupled to the programmable processor, for communicating system test commands between a host processor and the programmable processor.

  • Patent number: 3999017
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for transmitting a pre-recorded message to a plurality of destinations via a corresponding plurality of telephone lines. The apparatus comprises a means for storing and transmitting a message, for example a tape recorder. A switching arrangement connects a selected line to the apparatus, and means such as a dialling mechanism are used to call a desired telephone number. When the called telephone is ringing this is detected by a ring tone detector, and when the ringing ceases a switching circuit connects the tape recorder to the called telephone and transmits the pre-recorded message. When the message ceases the selected line is automatically disconnected from the apparatus.
